Freedom, to me, means living without restraints, constraints and just being comfortably able to be who you are. Freedom is a beautiful thing. It's something that is the foundation of our souls, for to be free is to be blessed. Am I free? I think so. I like to think that as of my divorce, I'm not only free, but my mind and soul have been liberated.

Freedom is how you definite it; for every person, the meaning changes. To me, true freedom is freedom from slavery (though slavery does still exist), freedom of speech (if it doesn't harm another being) and freedom of choice (as long as your choice doesn't infringe on another person).

Now, what does it truly mean to me in practice? Freedom means walking out your front door in the morning, getting in your car, on your bike, on your motorcycle, calling a taxi or walking . . . to your job, the mall, the library, the park, to visit friends or around your neighborhood . . . .after a day at work or whatever you chose to do that day . . . to go home to cook yourself something to eat, go to a restaurant, fast food joint or to not eat at all . . . closing the night watching TV, reading the Bible, meditating, sipping coffee while sitting on the porch, visiting with friends or just calling it a night, saying a prayer and going to sleep in a warm and cozy bed . . . that’s freedom.
Am I free? I would like to think so...could it be taken away . . . I pray . . . never.

My definition of freedom is a state/condition in which there is an absence of constraints/restraints.

What does it mean to me? It means that I am at peace with who I am, what I think, and what I do.

Am I free? The answer is no.

I guess my definition of freedom is the ability to live your life in the manner of your choosing, without everyone around you being judgmental about it . . . assuming, of course, that person isn't ruining their life, or the lives of others. In which case, I would say, I am free, I live my life, I have fun when I can, but I can be serious at a moment’s notice. I have my problems, like anyone does, but I try not to air them out for all to see, and just share them with those who are dear to me, and can actually do something to help, even if it is only being there for me. And of course freedom is a big thing to have, so I am glad to be able to call myself free.

To me freedom is a lack of worry in life. It means trusting in the promises of God that He will provide in all areas, and knowing that He is in control, which frees me from the worries of life. It’s knowing that I am His child and that can do anything as a result! I know this isn't specifically a Christian site, but my faith is integral to who I am. That isn't to say that I always act through this freedom; I still am subject to the worries of life. But I have the power to choose to give it up, when I recognize I am anxious about something. So I would say I am free, with the power of Christ on my side! To know that "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."

What about you? What does freedom mean in your life? Do you consider yourself free?
