Generally speaking a cement overcoat is not a good thing to wear while swimming in the East River....
Most Portland cement comes in about a 90 lb bag. With various "mixes" in smaller sacks. The old boys say Cement is the dry powder.
While concrete is the dry powder mixed with sand, aggregates, and water. Today so many get it interchanged and screwed up. Recently with the aid of my trusty assistant; Ronnie, I replaced the step to the Beemer Pad.
I had several cement blocks that were 4" thick so as to make an immovable frame. Flanked by some 2' X 8" X 16" blocks on edge and a wooden form on the back side. Ronnie and I mixed up a batch of concrete, poured it into place, screeded it off, then troweled to a semi-rough finish. Made a much nicer step than the bricks that were there.

Who can forget in Star Trek " A Piece of the Action" when Mr Scott informed Krako "he'd be wearing concrete galoshes !"

I came home and started helping my gal.... dang near forgetting it was Thursday and I had payroll to do !!!!!!
She got all the cob webs and dust bunnies before our friends Max & Alex get here tomorrow (weather permitting )

Luckily I was able get in see my physician today. With the usual medical mumbo jumbo he wants me on mega doses of a scripted vitamin K. He wants to keep track of the iron built up in my body the other stuff IDK....

Many of you know about the new Mercedes SLK . I wasn't feeling the best this morning when we woke and I said I'd spring for breakfast in town if he'd drive. It was sprinkling and the cattle were under cover not inclined to eat so we went out to the car.
I just happened to glance down the Mercedes Benz emblem is even on the tire valve stem covers!!! Talk about Teutonic attention to detail!

Probably one of the area's BEST skateboarders did not have a snowboard. 18ish,broke, busted home, all the cards stacked against him... I gave him my Echos 144 Snowboard
Some might remember my Heidi pulling me through the snow on my board.

Have you ever had ONE OF THOSE DAYS where plan "A" just didn't work and you needed to find another way to get the job done.
Our dimmer switch in the dining room decided it was gonna crap out on us. Simple change until I removed the screws! JD's Dad or grandpa who originally put in the switch MANY years ago had not left any extra wire as if the switch would last for all eternity.
Well,,,,,,,, I rinky dinked around cutting the wires closely from the switch then taped the new dimmer in... Someone else in the future may cuss me !
However, we now have light in the dining room. Don't worry about mis-matched colored switches... they get painted blue with florescent paint to be seen in the dark.
I'd gone up into a bedroom to get some ribbon and Her Majesty was setting cockeyed ! The frame's back had pulled away!
This distressed me right off the get go!
I took "Gorilla Tape" to reinforce the back stand and plating.
The coin a silver Crown issued in 1977 to commemorate Queen Elizabeth's 25th year of rule. It has been restored to it's rightful place.

How many Classic Dr WHO fans are there in here?
Our poor old mailbox is getting pretty beat up looking and we were just joking about making a DALEK to set beside the road to hold the mailbox! LMAO !!!!! We'd probably have to make it heavy enough so it would not get stolen easily too. Cast in place concrete might be the answer.
