I had to go into the Bank this morning and see my insurance agent. On the way it looked like an engine derailed and damaged it's trucks.
Some pretty heavy duty cranes to lift that much weight.

Remember those peaches I got?
They would NOT Peal worth a tinker's "D" To peal peaches you immerse them in boiling water for a moment.
Then into a cold bath to loosen the fuzzy skin and peal them.
This did NOT happen so I removed any bad spots from the peach then cut them into the blender.
I added some grapes and cored out some apples too and tossed in.
I had some Peach / Mango juice I added to the blender. Peaches also require a touch of Almond Extract to retain flavor.
I blended all the fruit
I added about 5 cups of sugar and brought the mixture to a rolling boil for about 15 minutes.
After jarring it up there is just shy of five quarts with that little fancy jelly jar full up front.

Our guys ask for my Colonel Bretty's Fried Chicken Sandwiches.
I buy a large package of boneless / skinless thighs at Walmart just for them.... juicy / flavorful !
I season the meat with Lawrey's Seasoned Salt while in the flour bowl ready to be completely covered with flour.
Dip the meat in beaten eggs before dredging in bread crumbs. I make my own bread crumbs to control the size and quality.
Unfortunately my picture in the bread crumbs didn't turn out but here you see the piece of chicken in the greased fry pan ready for cooking.
Fry to a golden brown then place in a Dutch oven to simmer in a 350 degree oven for about an hour. The guys love Colonel Bretty's Fried Chicken Sandwiches with baked beans, coleslaw, chips and dip!

I've changed Physicians with my Cancer treatment from Iowa City to Waterloo. Considerably closer. Thursday I have an appointment at Unity Point Community Cancer Center. ..... Their Drs seemed much cuter than those in Iowa City!

Seen my Dr yesterday afternoon in his wound clinic. He worked me over GOOD. I brought Pizzas home for the guys and fell sound asleep. MUTTs Inc didn't even wake me. The guys are getting Southern Fried Chicken, Mashed potatoes & Gravy for dinner.

Tomorrow morning my long time friend Jake will help me start in with the labs, tests, and scans to see if they removed all the cancer from my body. He will help me drive the 2 1/2 hours to Iowa City & Coralville. They will also determine if any chemo will be necessary.

Many of you probably know I play on E bay picking up all sorts of items from clothes, to coins, to antiques for the house, HOWEVER,... I am caught up in a bid war which I am loosing on an important historical item that belongs in a museum... or MY House! I won't say in here but it is silver.....
There are times where I wish I could silence that inner voice... that craving.... that irrepressible desire........
Do you ever find yourself torn apart by want vs need ? or am I just being an idiot?

I'd bought groceries with a "C"note the change tucked into my billfold as I left the cash register. I crossed the parking lot... there in an old rusty van was an elderly gent who'd gone to school with my dad crying. I stepped by saying "hello" I know he didn't recognize me thus I said I was Keith's . I inquired why he was so saddened whereby he said he had no money. I emptied my wallet folded it and stuck it in his hand.... he hugged me and I left.
