She

My oldest is nearing her 16th birthday. As one of her gifts, I am "building" a customized book--one with photos of her growing up, collections of thoughts, etc. What is written below will be included in the compilation.

I have not written the words below...however, they are something that I came across some time ago and fell in love with. It expressed my thoughts, nearly perfectly.

A day will never go by that I don’t love you.
An hour will never pass that I don’t think of you.
From the moment I looked onto your face I felt peace.
The first sounds of your breathing gave me my reason for living.
Each day that passes I know that God blessed me with you.

Tumbles and falls, cuts and bruises each one caused me pain too.
You could not shed a tear that I did not shed too.
Every day you seemed to grow more beautiful not just in my eyes but in everyone that looked at you.
The days passed too fast, my little girl would be a woman soon.
Each day that passes I know that God blessed me with you.

My worst fear was that you would feel pain that I could not take away.
Tears that I could not stop. Heartache that I had no cure for.
But as a mother I realized that you would feel these things regardless of anything that I could do.
Each day that passes I know that God blessed me with you.

As you grew I had to sit back and wait for you to need my help.
My protection of you was there always but I must learn to wait til you needed me.
I could not erase the pain or stop the cause of your tears but I will be there always, no matter the reason for them.
Each day that passes I know that God blessed me with you.

As I grow older I have only one fear now, that the day will come that I will no longer be here to see your smile, your fears, your tears.
But always remember that I am beside you, near you, within you - my love will be with you even when my body is no longer here.
Because each day that passes my love grows because God blessed me with you.

Thanks Belle. I hope she WILL have a lovely birthday. The sweet 16 SHOULD be a memorable one. I'm trying to do what I can, to make it that way. Hopefully, I'm on the right track, seeing how her birthday is in July (I'm a planner )

Sounds as if YOU are a thoughtful Mother, too! I'm hoping she'll appreciate and enjoy my efforts. In addition to this writing, I've kept a positive journal since she was little (she's not, yet aware of it)--each time she did something that I was proud of, was exciting or a positive experience (involving her) I would write an entry, knowing SOME time in the future, I would pass it onto her...someday, when she is more mature.

She's growing into a beautiful young lady (see above picture)--that's my gurrl!

I wish that I could take credit for creating such lovely words--however, I cannot. Unfortunately, I don't know who the author is.

Take what you need of it. And thanks for popping by my blog

Hello my dear friend,

"L" you were my closest friend for a long time. I miss your laugh and easy-going conversations. I met you when I was at my lowest and you didn't care. You knew I was far away, but you treated me with compassion and diginity. Perhaps I didn't deserve any of that, but you gave me all that you had and I was happy.

I will NEVER forget your friendship, time may pass and we may not talk like we used to, but I am always indebted to you for your selfless friendship and kindness.

I was so very close to loving you, but distance is cruel and I think I was too much of a mess at the time. Either way I do have LOVE for you as my friend. I always will.

Never could I have thought an online stranger would become so close to me in a situation I was bitterly alone in. I owe you more then I can possible give, so I will give you my friendship.

Feel free to call me if you need to talk, I am your friend.

Best wishes and heartfelt hugs,

Jason
