Its a Girl

Well folks what a week!

My poor , what a way to start a family.

As with my previous post, my went into the early stages of labour before I left to go over East.

After a week of false starts, she finally wentinto labour properly on the Thursday morning, however the contractions weren't frequent enough so they sent here home again.

They were to induce birth at 4 pm Thursday, so she again went to the hospital, only to be told she was only 3cm dilated at 10 pm and to go home, again.

1.30am and she was back in hospital, and in the birth suite.

At 6.30 am Friday she was 7 cm dilated, so it was only a matter of time.

At 5.15 pm, after a day of pain, she finally gave birth to a 8lb 14oz little angel, who the proud parents have named Jasmyn Danielle.

My has humbled me greatly as she insisted I was there during the birth process ( I suppose that as I was a sole parent I played the role of Mum and Dad so she thought it fitting ).

The joy of being able to hold my granddaughter when she was only minutes old is beyond words.

Poor little tyke has spent the past day and a half in an incubated under lights due to jaundice, but otherwise mum and are both well, and the father is still walking on air and busy telling everyone how cute his new is.

As for Grand dad, he is doing the same thing, despite having to drive back to Western Australia.

I have to admit, that it was the saddest trip, as well as being the hardest to leave my family.

Good news is that the new job will mean more money and more time off, so I can fly home every 4 - 6 weeks to spoil my grand more.

Hopefully the prudes at FF will allow this picture to be posted, so you can all see how cute my grand bub is.

She was only 5 minutes old in this picture.

"Those who say it cannot be done, are quite often interrupted by those doing it!"
