Derailed !!!

I had to go into the Bank this morning and see my insurance agent. On the way it looked like an engine derailed and damaged it's trucks.

Some pretty heavy duty cranes to lift that much weight.

Ouch least it stayed up right those are called side boom tractors that's a company that goes Nationwide or is Nationwide and they pretty much do all derailment recovery work. I don't know any railroad today that has their own cranes and other equipment, it happened so seldom most of the time that railroads are going to maintain the equipment it cost a lot to keep a crane maintained

Watching railway workers fix a derailed locomotive is fascinating. We have had a number of train derailments nearby in the last 18 months. I always found it interesting how quickly they got the locomotives back on track and into service. But it took months for them to clean up the other rail cars and their associated messes.

NW breezy, high 32F, light snow all day. As of 10 pm we have moderate snow and blowing snow, 29F. We are under a heavy snowfall warning.

I just enlarged the photo on top might have been a seized up traction motor, and they had to lift the locomotive and roll the truck out to replace the motor I'm just guessing

I got most of my bankruptcy month-end book keeping done today, but am still waiting on my bank to process all of October's payments so I can print out the bank statement.

+ Roger I just don't have enough information to make an educated statement or assertion where it happened.
