Remember.......... ?

Remember last summer when I stuck some potato "eyes" into a patio planter just to see what I'd get..... [post 236239] [post 236113]

Well......... it's time to harvest them !!!!!

What a crop! Just enough for a batch of Potato Soup for JD & I !!!

Mother Nature never fails to surprise me !!! A little bacon, some onion and milk gives us a batch of Autumn Potato Soup to ward off the chill of the day!

I was wondering how your potato crop was going to yield. That's a pretty damn god harvest from a few discarded eyes. Hope you enjoy the soup.

I took the day of today because I was exhausted from roof repair work yesterday. It had rained during the night so the roof was wet and slippery anyway. It was also a bit too chilly to work outside. It is supposed to be warmer Friday, so I will get back at the job and hopefully complete it tomorrow.

For something that would have been discarded is is a special harvest. some interesting shapes and sizes too. I was not expecting to corner the potato harvest in Iowa, however, I did get a pretty planter pot out on the patio for the summer.

You deserve it Roger. Last few dys here have pushed me to the limits, as well, since my surgery. The corn is still way too wet to harvest and JD is chonking at the bit to get started..... First sex since I got sick two months ago............... I'd almost forgotten what an orgasm was........ Going back to bed this waking up in the middle of the night to go pee is a crock of crap and makes me almost like that catheter with round the clock sleep. Ruby is still outside but does not want to come in to sleep.... kinda worried... that's what Roxy did before passing.

It's Friday afternoon and I have finally completed the exterior portion of my garage roof repair project.. Still have to move some stuff in the interior so I can pull down some rotted ceiling panels and replace them. That can be done anytime in winter because the garage is heated.

I hope Ruby will be OK. It would be hard to lose 2 of your furry kids in just a few months.

M<y roofing project will take way more effort to accomplish as it is up 2 stories. It is currently 32 F here Saturday morning in North Iowa. Just tossed a log in the fire and sent JD out to work
