Bret's Cannery Part 2 Screw on finger tight each rim securing the lid. With some canners you might need a "spanner" jar to take up space so jars don't move in the boiling water or clatter. Place on the lid and process one hour after water surrounding the jars comes to a rolling boil.... NOT SHOWN..... in the bottom of my roaster is a rack... do NOT place glass jars directly on the bottom of the pan... they will EXPLODE ! After an hour I just turned off the heat allowing the canner to cool down over night These are my jars of home made grape juice. You need to shelve your juice for about a month so the flavors totally develop. |
