Bald eagles are a majestic bird; always fun to watch them train their brood to hunt.

I was 90% done shortening my grass this afternoon when the steering sector shaft broke on the tractor mower. Had to push it by hand over to the shop. My neighbor helped me remove the shaft and he will take it to the Hutterite colony tomorrow to see if the can fix it. I can't afford to buy new parts and they might not be available for the 21 yr old machine. The mower is useless with no steering. I hope the Hutts can fix it. If not, I can do something myself to get it back in operation.

The neighbor couldn't make it to the Hutterite colony today because the rain made the road too muddy. I wanted to finish the mowing job, so I welded it myself, and installed a oil fitting in the ball and socket joint so I can keep it lubricated, preventing another failure. I finished up the mowing and put the tractor back in its own shed so I could put the yellow taxi back in the garage. We got 16.6mm or 0.64" of rain with the temp at 42F. The rain has now stopped and the temp is 55F.
