Off to WAR!  A long time ago.......  Even before Roger & STR were out pissing around.... In a state Far far away.... The Legislature declared the Sunflower a Noxious weed to be irradiated from Iowa's ditches and public lands.  The Sunflower just happens to be the the State flower of Kansas. Kansas retaliated by declaring OPEN SEASON on the Goldfinch ... Iowa's State Bird.  The Governor called out the State Militia to defend the Goldfinch.   After much deliberation and diplomacy the matter was settled.   That was the LONG Way around to the topic of my blog..... The Iowa State Flower... The Prairie Rose We have some in the rougher east end of our lawn.  Here you see the rose with some Buttercups. |

BEAUTIFUL Sunny day 85 F... 29 C here however, I have NOT gotten a G D thing done I needed to. Between MUTTs Inc & JD my day is getting wasted...............

I thought Star had lost that picture. Obviously once a pic is on the internet, it is never lost. LOL!

Politicians struggle to find something to do to justify their existence in our world. Declaring war on flowers and birds certainly is proof of that. I'm glad that a mutual resolution was worked out.

The prairie wild rose is the Provincial flower of Alberta. We have some wild sunflowers, mostly along the road sides, but they are not on the noxious weed list.

Sorry I was not able to make it into chat yesternight. I over worked myself and was too tired to do much of anything. It is raining here today and it is supposed to continue through Tuesday with amounts of 3/4 to 1". Higher amounts to the north and west could cause localized flooding in some river valleys.
