One of THOSE Dayz! Have you ever had ONE OF THOSE DAYS where plan "A" just didn't work and you needed to find another way to get the job done. Our dimmer switch in the dining room decided it was gonna crap out on us. Simple change until I removed the screws! JD's Dad or grandpa who originally put in the switch MANY years ago had not left any extra wire as if the switch would last for all eternity. Well,,,,,,,, I rinky dinked around cutting the wires closely from the switch then taped the new dimmer in... Someone else in the future may cuss me ! However, we now have light in the dining room. Don't worry about mis-matched colored switches... they get painted blue with florescent paint to be seen in the dark. I'd gone up into a bedroom to get some ribbon and Her Majesty was setting cockeyed ! The frame's back had pulled away! This distressed me right off the get go! I took "Gorilla Tape" to reinforce the back stand and plating. The coin a silver Crown issued in 1977 to commemorate Queen Elizabeth's 25th year of rule. It has been restored to it's rightful place. |

Boiled a bunch of chicken bones from the weekend's feasting to make us Chicken & Stars soup1 We love it but so seldom can find the macaroni "STARS" for in it. They are made in Mexico. Mexicans love their kids and think they need STARs in their diet. Why can't Americans make STARs????

There were several other "PLAN B" instances too. Security lights burned out needing changing etc. just on & on today....

Sometimes it is a terrible Tuesday in every respect. Sounds like you managed to muddle your way through it with flying colors.

I have been doing some electrical repairs in an old house where all the wires in the boxes were way too short to even pull the switch or receptacle out to unhook it, never mind installing a new one. When that happens, I usually add a short piece of wire using a wire nut connector, providing the box is not already overcrowded with wires.

Good to hear you got Queenie back on her feet with help from your resident gorilla. This year marks her 70th year on the throne and she's still going strong.

Was a nice warm spring day at 69F, very light and variable, clear sky. Tonight we have some 30% cloud. Showers are up by Calgary, but I don't think we will see anything here.

Be careful jumping up and down on that broken leg. Congratulations on the EE bay win.

I ate lunch out on the patio, and for supper I had a bbq burger with 2 baked spuds and a small salad. Just finished making some chocolate pudding for dessert with some milk that had reached it's expiry date.
