Primula Vulgaris,

It is late summer here in Iowa and my Primrose are in bloom. Primula vulgaris, the common primrose, is a species of flowering plant in the family Primulaceae, native to western and southern Europe, northwest Africa, and parts of southwest Asia. The common name is primrose, or occasionally common primrose or English primrose to distinguish it from other Primula species also called primroses. None of these are closely related to the evening primroses. The flowers are fresh in the mornings, however, by dusk they are spent with many buds waiting to blossom out the next .

Things are getting back to normal here, cleaning and returning the furniture to the parlor. MUTTs Inc walk quite gingerly across the icy slick new surface of the floor.

Man, that floor refinishing job continues to make even more work for you. It's too bad your 4 man crew of MUTTs inc can't help you.

That primrose is beautiful and the idea of the blossom only lasting through one day is interesting.

It was 83F here today, mostly calm, but right now there is a brisk E wind blowing in my office window. Tomorrow 92F with 30% thunder late afternoon and evening.

I worked outside on the old Ford most of the day with my shirt off and it was quite pleasant with the low relative humidity. Think I may have gotten a bit of sunburn on my tattooed back.

I caught that photo mid morning when they are at their most vibrant best.

No chance of rain for us until Friday. I am not certain if I can be stretched far enough to get all this done by the end of the month.

My Nordic ass has to avoid over exposure to the sun even though I love the warmth. Out on the lake I just get fried.

I've always enjoyed their bright yellow on a tall stalk setting them above the rest.
