Name calling in Bible: Jesus called evil people names.

Today there are proper names taken from the bible that are synonymous with an act. The most notable are that of being a "Judas" for one that betrays; a "Jezebel" for a woman that is not virtuous; and the patience of "Job" whom God allowed Satan to afflict. Even Jesus called the Scribes and Pharisees the "Sons of Hell". Since Jesus knew the hearts of ALL men, he took the time to "feed the trolls" on occasion, likely for the benefit of His disciples as a witness I am sure.

Here are a few Bible verses to ponder, using the NKJV:

Starting with Matthew 5: 22, we notice that Jesus warns against calling people names
(ie-accusing) without good reason<<<

Matthew 5:22
But I say to you that whoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment. And whoever says to his brother, ‘Raca!’ shall be in danger of the council. But whoever says, ‘You fool!’ shall be in danger of hell fire.

Matthew 12
48 He replied to him,“Who is my mother, and who are my brothers?”49 Pointing to his disciples, he said,“Here are my mother and my brothers.50 For whoever does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother.”

*Note: the exception to name calling (accusing) against Jesus' "brothers" is listed. Of course, the church(es) will say that I am 'out of context'<<<This is a convenient way of justifying their misinterpretations of the Bible. You will note that Jesus never called His mother or disciples derogatory names. Matter of fact, both Peter "the rock", and Mary are associated with fortitude and virtue respectively. And the early church, spiritually called 'Ephesus' or 'first love' was indeed pure and uncorrupt, yet that wouldnt last long as Paul the apostle prophesied of the 'falling away' which led to the Dark Ages associated with persecutions from the Papacy.

Matthew 23
13 “But woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you shut up the kingdom of heaven against men; for you neither go in yourselves, nor do you allow those who are entering to go in. 14 Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you devour widows’ houses, and for a pretense make long prayers. Therefore you will receive greater condemnation. 15 “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you travel land and sea to win one proselyte, and when he is won, you make him twice as much a of hell as yourselves.

Luke 11
16 “Woe to you, blind guides, who say, ‘Whoever swears by the temple, it is nothing; but whoever swears by the gold of the temple, he is obliged to perform it.’ 17 Fools and blind! For which is greater, the gold or the temple that sanctifies the gold? 18 And, ‘Whoever swears by the altar, it is nothing; but whoever swears by the gift that is on it, he is obliged to perform it.’ 19 Fools and blind! For which is greater, the gift or the altar that sanctifies the gift?

[Paul the Apostle]
2 Timothy 3
1 But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come:2 For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3 unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, 4 traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, 5 having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away! 6 For of this sort are those who creep into households and make captives of gullible women loaded down with sins, led away by various lusts, 7 always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

Hebrews 12
7 If you endure chastening, God deals with you as with sons; for what is there whom a father does not chasten? 8 But if you are without chastening, of which all have become partakers, then you are illegitimate and not sons.

[John the Apostle]
Revelation 22
14 Blessed are those who do His commandments, that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter through the gates into the city. 15 But outside are dogs and sorcerers and sexually immoral and murderers and idolaters, and whoever loves and practices a lie.
