A poem from my past...

This poem is inspired by the effort it takes to land a worthy "catch" lol.
It is self-authored , so all rights reserved please. Intellectual property and copyright 2004. .

"Hooked"

A subtle lure breaks the surface
...tension mounts as it slowly sink-swims down
finding it's way into hit-strike zone.

On reflex and a roll swiftly down below top
sets reel in hand on a low drag nonstop
....action slowed when fin hits rock.

About face pace throws angler off balance
....beams of light radiate from the eye gleams
and fish were never like this on old streams.

Bounding through the wild blue, line twists straight,
then narrow until both call stalemate
....both call time for wind and a break.

Treading water and ground breaking breach
settles a round-about warring peace
....abounds the "who caught who" of big fish.

The End

Great Job:-The lure indeed remains---the streams the same but the current rougher and the twists wilder/deeper but we get hooked nevertheless.
But dear.... don't be mad when i say:....the 'Catch' when caught ends up dead.

But again i beg to interpret it to mean 'Dead to all other pursuits...i hope, correct me if i am wrong.

Thankyou so much for this...it got me thinking and i love that.

Thanks Trixie. The emphasize was on the fight, in terms of the "catch" just might be the real angler after all. Is all relative, yes? And yes the catch will always die, but to whose or what end? Everything that dies puts it's strength into the season as well. Or another way is to ask oneself how much the price for the catch? It could very well end up a pyrrhic victory Thanks again.
