CHINA TOPS in EXECUTIONS.. More than the rest of the world combined figures.

China has the dubious distinction of successively recording the highest number of execution of people, more than what rest of the world combined does. As per Dui Human Foundation, China executed about 2400 people in the year 2013. As per Amnesty International, which has no access to such data from China reported 778 executions from rest of the world combined during 2013; which concurs and confirms the statistics about China. Of these, the China apex court, sent back 39% cases to lower courts for futher proof of guilt.

Amnesty International reported fther that so far in the world 23, 392 persons have been executed till the year 2013. UN says 173 of the 193 member countries under fold are execution free. After China, it is Iran, Iraq and Kingdom of Saudi Arabia that follow it on this count.

US is the only country in Americas to have executed people, with the State of Texas leading with 41% of the total executions done in US.

Incidentally, drug offences constitute the main offence for being punished with executions.

So this brings to fore the basic question again, if State has authority or vested right to take the life of a person, for what ever reasons it may be.

Any comments please......?
