The wall, had to be broken
After world war II control of germany was divided between
american, british and french troops taking control of west germany
and soviet troops takng control of east germany.
The berlin wall was built by east germany in 1961 to prevent it's citizens from fleeing to the west, hundreds of people were killed while climbing the wall by the soviet troops. The berlin wall became a symbol of divide between the soviet union and the west.
When the soviet union (now russia) collapsed the wall was torn down in 1989, symbolizing the unification of east and west germany,
with berlin as the new capital of Germany.
