Funeral Pyres

My first Blog on April 25, 2007 was titled Cine Funerals as:

The Government has done well by banning smoking in Public Places. Understand that it is also banned in the movies. Think it is high time that the Censor Board banned the Funeral Pyres in the movies. Hugh pile of wood is unnecessarily wasted for this purpose.
.
.

..
There was excellent response from all Bloggers of that era with all agreeing to the idea.

Last night I saw a TV serial and they showed a Hugh pile of wood well stacked and burnt it. Is it fair? India is importing wood from South Africa and Indonesia. This natural resource is very precious. Is it worth burning it in movies and now in TV serials?

Its worth mentioning that Ms Vidya Balan grew up in neighborhood. She is junior to my dottie. I had discussed this with her when she joined Bollywood from modelling . One fine day she came home and told me proudly that in her movie Dirty Picture, she has insisted on showing symbolic flames to film her own funeral in the movie. Thanks Vidya B

Can any one suggest how we can impose this ban in movies and serials?how to start this movement ?

Aakash. your blog is really eye opener. But if you see what type of wood is burnt in the funeral., it is just waste, which cannot be used in any kind..thin branches, useless wood ...
