I'm a caring individual - enjoy spoiling but like to be pampered in return too.
I'm independent, but I'm flexible. Want to share my thoughts & have a person appear to be interested in what I have to say. I admit it - I'm "wordy" so it takes a patient person with good listening skills (but I'm also a good listener too). Somewhat opinionated, but like suggestions, will often ask for them, & frequently will accept a suggestion if it is well grounded. I 'make decisions' all day so often I just like to let someone else decide 'what to do tonight'. I like to be asked; but if I don't have a particular preference, YOU decide - I'll enjoy it. I have fun at most everything I do. When there's something you want to do I don't care for, I'll decline, but feel free to do it, without me. (Everyone needs some space, & their own personal interests).
I'm very much a lady, in public. In private, I leave to your speculation. Expect to be treated w/ gentleness, kindness, respect & courtesy; but not be put on a pedestal, for I am not perfect (although close!) LOL.
Good sense of humor, intelligent; well read & enjoy conversations on a wide variety of topics.
Love to dress-up & equally like jeans around a camp fire - whatever the time & situation calls for.
Attractive; comfortable w/myself & my self image. Not very photogenic tho; cameras never seem to capture the 'sparkle' in my personality so pictures rarely seem to do me justice.
Widowed 5 years & miss the company, friendship & doing enjoyable things with someone. Altho my 3 very loving cats are wonderful companions, (& I'm sure understand every word I say to them), it's not the same as conversing w/ an intelligent human being.
Have less free time than I'd like, & not sure at present that I'm looking for a serious relationship, but would enjoy communicating & if things click, to meet at some point. That could, perhaps, be the beginning a long term relationship depending on how well compatibility blends into each of our own lives & life styles.
My Ideal Person
An intelligent well educated well groomed secure individual (preferably professional - I'm strongly attracted to 'suit & tie' type people (and to fairly tall people too even though I am petite - I like to be able to tuck right into/under your shoulder) . Looking for someone in pretty good health; I attempt to maintain my proper weight so someone very overweight indicates a lack of personal care. Frequent or heavy drinking is a turn off to me too. I smoke so if you don't, you'll have to bear with my one major vice. Attractiveness is fairly important but not absolutely critical - personality, intelligence, the ability to enjoy life & laugh are much more so. A kind, gentle, multifaceted person with a variety of interests. Someone who attends dressy affairs but also likes to camp, hike, boat, travel etc. Someone easy-going yet confident (strong personality w/o being overbearing). I like a secure person, fairly conservative, yet also enjoys the fun things in life. Someone willing to share (of themselves AND the chores!), loving & openly affectionate, considerate & gentlemanly - always treats me like a lady in public but also enjoys a bit of the wild-side in private. Some things I especially enjoy are camping, traveling the USA, playing euchre & Scrabble, going on occasional cruises when time permits so would like someone who enjoys these types of things too. A person who wants to be mostly w/ me, yet doesn't demand of all my time or theirs be spent together- we all need to maintain friendships & have our own personal interests. Honesty & integrity are a necessity.
Must like cats, for I have 4.
Prefer someone within an hour or so drive of home base - long distance relationships are nearly impossible to develop - I have a business & will/can not relocate.

Dinner at a fancy restaurant, slow dancing and a moonlit walk on the beach.

Whew. That's a tough one. I'm pretty muli-faceted so like a chameleon, I can change attire & style, to fit the surroundings as needed. Like to dress-up and like to be comfy casual too. At home I'm usually in jeans & a sweater or tee-shirt in cold weather; shorts & tank top in the summer. At work I very much project an image of professionalism and ability. An evening out .. see the above on how I think other people view me. In fact see the above for most of my personal style! Over all, I'd say I'm "casually sophisticated" ... but I'd rather be slightly over-dressed at a function than way under-dressed compared to what everyone else is wearing.
