grad student in the Wangsimni area of seoul in need of some intellectual stimulation and a possible dive buddy. i have been here for 6 months and amhaving a grand old time. my fondest memories thus far have been hiking the mountains around seoul, ice fishing in chuncheon and experiencing my longest achohol induced fugue at boshingak new year's eve 2005. well..i guess that last one doesn't count. my masters, should i ever complete it, will be in space studies (not nearly as sexy as it sounds). i get a big kick out dancing, whether it be techno, salsa, or line. the last three books i read (good ones, anyways): jonathan strange and mister norrell; eats, shoots and leaves; an unpardonable crime. a good book should be a crowbar for the packing crate that is your mind. i vote libertarian, like to surf, and stand in awe and astonishment every time i walk by a delimanjoo kiosk (the franchise needs to be imported to the states. now).
My Ideal Person
i get a kick out of educated women, knowledgable in the ways of the world and yet still retaining the mischevious slacker mentality. since that tends to be hard to find, i usually stick with the "educated" qualifier. ecclectic interests are a must, from music, to movies, to your area of study, to outdoor activities. i am the type of fellow who looks for friends with contrasting interests. lively debates on the virtues of political pluralism is tops. some great dates that i have been on: watching the perseid meteor shower on an arizona mountain, seeing the blue man group in concert before hitting a dance club, surfing out at virgina beach, and watching a incredibly bad movie after dinner at a japanese steakhouse. good conversation + good food + good atmosphere = good times ( like the tv show).
What would you do on an ideal date?: Dinner at a fancy restaurant, slow dancing and a moonlit walk on the beach., Rollerblading at noon, lunch to follow and a movie or live music concert in the evening.
What words best describe your personality?: Intelligent, Glass half full, Wild 'n Crazy, Sarcastic, Realist, apathetic
What animal best describes your personality?: Monkey
Tell us about your personal style and why it works for you. Casual and comfy? Sharp and professional?: as i have been told, my personal style wouldnt work for anyone.
