Profil von lostlizard
I think a sense of humor and honesty are the most important aspects of a person and I sure have them to spare! Along with that, I am a licensed architect (not practicing at the moment), have a PhD in Architecture and one in Adult Counseling. Please don't let that scare you off, as I can be the goofiest person around! I used to model, and I adore lizards and parrots (no kidding), as well as world travel. I love and movies that make me THINK. I'm an inexpensive date because I don't drink (life's simple pleasures are the best!), and I ADORE practical jokes. I will tell you up front that I do have asthma that is triggered by perfumes and colognes--I don't like to surprise people with this; if you can't handle my sensitivity to such things, then please tell me you just wish to write, not meet in person. There are very few people with whom I don't get along. My ideal date would be to just hang out, talk, have a nice drink (tea in winter, root beer in summer, go for a walk, maybe throw in a video or DVD and relax and discuss the film. Sorry, guys, I'm not into football or racing. You'll have to go alone or find someone else for that, and you'll have my blessing to have a good time! I have platonic male friends in addition to my female friends (I would expect the situation to be reciprocal), so I hope you aren't the jealous type. My outlook on life is quite positive and adventurous, but when I get into a bind, I just tell myself, "Feel the fear, and then do it anyway." I have traveled as far west as Nuevo Vallarta, Mexico (I have LOTS of friends there, and picked up Spanish very quickly; however, I kind of cheated because I already speak French and the two languages are very, very similar) and as far east as Sydney, Australia (I stopped by Moscow, Leningrad/St. Petersburg and Warsaw, Poland in 1981 and got out of Poland just two weeks before the Solidarity Movement started; I was one lucky girl to get out of there.). I recently spent a month (March 2003) just hanging out on a farm with friends in Australia (I was staying outside of Canberra, but I made it to Sydney for two days and LOVED it!) I just got back from 8 days in Cozumel, Mexico and got to ride on the only submarine in that country! The sub took us to the Chaukanaab Reef, the oldest one in the world. On a cloudy day, it was as clear as glass 104 feet under the water. There is a photo of me horseback riding through the jungle with a Mayan friend (he took the photo), and it was HEAVENLY! Denmark in the summer is my favorite country (I went to the University of Copenhagen for a semester in 1981), even though I have been all over western Europe. If it weren't so darn COLD there, I'd move back there for good in a heartbeat! I returned in 1999 to see the family I lived with back in 1981, and had a BLAST--I really loved the mom in the family, and it felt like I was "home" again. After my Australian visit, that country may edge out Denmark as being my favorite! I think the 24 hour journey to get to Australia is the only thing going against the place of honor. The Aussies also don't smoke as much (which is the opposite of ANYPLACE in Europe), and I found them to be extremely friendly. I'll find a way to go back. . . Because of my asthma, I cannot attend many places socially, so I have to be careful of where I go--the DVD player, my porch, parks and the kitchen have to suffice most of the time. If you can't deal with that, then please don't write to me; I'm sorry, but my health comes first. This doesn't mean that I'm not a lot of fun to be around. Trust me, I don't like it any more than any potential mates do, but that's the way it is. Everyone I have met through Friend Finder has been really interesting. I'd really like to find an intelligent man to talk to, watch a movie with, maybe go to a local park or hiking trail, and then maybe, over time, have it develop into something more serious. I'm not in any rush. I have no problem going to places alone, but it's more fun when I can share an experience with someone who can talk humorously and intelligently about what we did. In case you're wondering, the "tattoos" in the photo is only paint! I had a creative photographer during a modeling session. I don't have any tattoos myself, but I have nothing against them, either. Viva self-expression! I have a cockatiel who would love to be surgically attached to me, so it's love me, love my bird. I adore cats and I love to rub my face in their tummies, but I'm horribly allergic to them, and this is a HUGE bummer for me. . . I don't want anything to do with your dog. Actually, I'd prefer if you didn't HAVE a at all. No matter how much you insist to the contrary, your smells to high heaven to me, and it's not a pleasant odor. I don't trust them, as they are prey animals, and I have been bitten by a whose owner INSISTED that it was the sweetest thing on earth. Cats run away--dogs will stay and fight. I am not a fiction reader, but I love biographies, books of little-known facts, travel/cultural books, anything that lets me learn more about the world around me. I've only read one "paranormal" book, and I didn't even finish it--it just didn't ring my bell. There's so little time in our lives, and I want to use it to learn about the REAL world, not mere storytelling. I admire people who can make up a story, a talent I don't have, but I prefer to read non-fiction. Truth is stranger than fiction, right? Godiva chocolates, vanilla caramel, no more than 4 at a time if you are giving them as a gift. Hint, hint. I give great backrubs and massages. A guy in architecture school dated a professional massage therapist, so he taught all of us as we were working all night long and were tired. It's a good skill to acquire. I highly recommend learning it. Note: When you write to me, grammar and spelling count. You can't rely on the spell checker for long--I'll figure it out pretty fast because there isn't a grammar or punctuation checker! Also, if you lie to me, you're history. I can take the truth about ANYTHING, but I can't take a lie.

Der ideale Mensch für mich
I would like a funny, intelligent, honest man who doesn't mind accommodating my asthma. I can make up for it with a great personality, lots of life experience, an innate curiosity about the world and a pleasant exterior. I have met many delightful men through FriendFinder, BUT they have been intimidated by my intelligence and health, which is unfortunate because I'm not a judgemental person, and accept people for who they are. I am hopeful that he might have a child or two. Being divorced is more than okay with me. So is being a night person. If he can make me laugh with a clever quip and tell a great yarn, he's got my attention! Outside of that, I'm pretty open to whatever someone has to offer. As long as he is secure with himself, I don't care what he does, how many (if any) degrees he has, how many kids or ex-wives he has (anything over three wives does concern me, though), but he has to be INTERESTING. I don't bore easily, but life is a lot more fun if your can make it a bit saucier! Send some interesting tidbit my way (I can take a joke as well as anyone, but this not a solicitation for pornogragraphic ones), and I'll love you for it!

I have always been the person in a relationship/situation who did the nurturing, organizing, settling of quarrels, etc. It's been like this since I was 14 in my family situation. Just once, I'd like to experience what it's like to be pampered or have the load taken off me, even if it's just for a little while (Shucks, I'd be happy if it lasted for an HOUR!). I've been in two long-term (and quite a few short-term) relationships, and I liked being in them, but the men were emotionally unavailable to me and put the majority of the relationship on me. I'm looking for someone who will take the initiative about half the time. If I hadn't taken the lead, so to speak, we would have just sat and looked at paint drying. That's no fun for me. I want a man with a sense of adventure! I don't date married men; I want to see divorce papers. I've learned my lesson in that department. No "rebound" dating, either. I can accept someone who hasn't dated much after a few years after a divorce, but I don't want to be the first woman after the divorce.

I think grey hair is INCREDIBLY sexy! Balding (or totally bald) doesn't bother me, either. I think men feel about their hairlines the way women feel about their hips--the opposite sex usually doesn't notice or care!

If you read the article above, I would GLADLY accept a marriage proposal from an Australian who lives on a few acres outside of Canberra or Sydney. The water and air is soooo clean there, I never felt better in my life! A horse is a bonus.<g> I have my own income, so I wouldn't be a financial burden. Serious inquiries will be given references. I really loved Australia (the weather has a lot to do with it), or I be looking for a Dane.

Welche Faktoren sind am wichtigsten wenn du nach jemandem suchst?:
Bildung

Wie würden Sie Ihre Persönlichkeit beschreiben?:
extrovertiert, intelligent, wild und verrückt, wagemutig, lustig und albern, sarkastisch, realistisch, vorsichtig, The engraving on my urn when I am dead will read, "She was. . ., . . .sensible."

Welches Tier beschreibt deine Persönlichkeit am besten?:
Cat--I do as I please

Erzähl uns über deinen persönlichen Stil. Lässig und bequem? Sexy und ungezogen?:
Definately a bit on the glamourous side. I found a company that has clothes that fit me, and since I am tall, I can carry off wearing a lot of interesting pashmina shawls (I'm ALWAYS cold!). I prefer solid colors with simple, high quality fabrics and interesting jewelry. I don't like to draw attention to myself, so I dress simply, but with the best fabrics I can find. Luckily, I don't need much make-up, so it's lipstick and I'm out the door!
