That being said, I'm a quiet, thoughtful, kind soul in search of friends to enjoy laughter and delight in simply experiencing conversation, maybe a chess game, or hiking around Pine Mountain. I'd like to meet people interested in exploring this area, historically and from our divergent modern perspectives. I grew up here, but have only recently begun to appreciate the ways in which its stories shape it still. I enjoy taking my dog for walks along the Riverwalk (he needs lots of practice, and the sound of the water is soothing). Sometimes, if he's willing to lay still long enough, I'll open up a book and read awhile on the bank. I'm an avid reader in general, anything from popular fiction to poetry to science and arts/culture magazines. Cooking is a pleasurable pasttime, new recipes are fun, especially with an enthusiastic partner in dining. Huge fan of the ocean. I lived on the Pacific coast for a while, and it was beautiful. Gardening is restful and keeps me out of trouble. While not a neat-freak, I do strangely enjoy washing my windows and folding laundry.
