Hello everyone. I've returned to Louisiana after living in another country for 10 years and hope to use this site as a way to connect with new friends.
I am a 33 year old heterosexual female recently single after a year long relationship.
I've met my fair share of people and have made a few friends since returning home a few months ago, but have found that it is not very easy to connect with women or men in my age range for friendship.
Adjusting to life here again has been a challenge, especially given that my interests do not seem to fall into the category of what is typically normal in a small town.
I do like shopping, movies, hiking/outdoors and going to small[er] bars to listen to good music. Fairly normal, right? But my throw in a love for art galleries, poetry readings, concerts, museums, photography, jazz/piano bars, learning various languages, yoga, painting, philosophy lectures and spontaneous roadtrips... and well, maybe you can see my dilemma.
I do tend to be very flexible and can fit into most situations with a large variety of people, and would like meet some new friends who share one or all of my interests.
My Ideal Person:
I suppose the easiest way would be to describe what my friends whom I left when I moved back home are like.
Witty, intelligent, compassionate, honest and trustworthy; people who are just as happy to go hang out over coffee or tea at the local coffee shop as they would be jumping in the car and driving 10 hours with me just so that we could see some obscure painting or so that I can find the perfect pair of jeans!
But most importantly, he/she would/should be an asset to my life and not a liability.
