Some days I can be happy jogging in the park and then just having a couple onigiri, sitting on a bench and watching neighborhood play. But other times I have to get out to a good restaurant and have a slow,wonderful dinner. I like to hear some good jazz or blues in a club whether in Tokyo, Denver, Paris, wherever...
I want to revisit the best places I've seen like the Alps, Dordogne, Munich, even Shiretoko for Obon! Most of all I want to find a special person or people to spend time with. With wonderful people it hardly matters where you are.
Love to laugh, read modern lit., ride, cycle, ski, watch good movies, run half marathons,...even cook (not bad for boy from Dixie) or just relax. I am very fit (sub 3 marathon)I speak French very well, nihon no shimbun dan dan yomeru, get by in German, pretend in Italian, me gusto la musica salsa, sorry...no Swahili.
I guess it is obvious that I don't spend much time in my native USA. The flight home is long, BUT I guess I will be making it more often or even SETTLING there now that I have put together my nest egg from working in the Arabian Gulf. I hope to let my heart dictate where I go in the future.
My Ideal Person
Am looking for a person who doesn't find me too eccentric  _!! Those who can share some of passions, weekends, and maybe years of my life.
My friends (and ex's) are not elite types; just cheerful and open people who don't give up and choose the artificial hype we are often sold, but people who search a little harder for something authentic and really worth discovering...and of course they shouldn't dislike going up in the mountains and the ability to ride a bike and change its tires is more of a plus than
being drop-dead gorgeous (and NO, that doesn't mean I am going blind or getting Alzheimers).
Politically, I am a pragmatist and do not get along with people at either extremes. The disgusting about the US recently is folks unwilling to yield some pride to find solutions. It is people who can leave their "labels at the door" who will solve the massive problems that we face. In other words: recylers are good; left or right wing "nutters" need not apply.
What would you do on an ideal date?:
Dinner at a fancy restaurant, slow dancing and a moonlit walk on the beach.
