2005-10-03 One of my partner's male friends has been so desperate to find himself a girl friend, that he has spent his entire adult life in a search for one. This guy has spent an absolute fortune in his quest to find "love". He has joined every dating agency he can find, and he even resorted to setting up his own dating agency at one point. However he found he had almost 90% male members and only 10% female members. He once joined an "executive dating agency" where each member had to come from a very high walk of life, only professional members allowed. He had to pay £250 per hour session with this executive agency where twelve members would sit around a table exchanging chat. But he didn't find himself a girlfriend there, despite having paid over £1000 in fees! This poor guy's life decisions revolve around his drastic search for a girl friend. He has joined leisure activities such as salsa dancing, horse riding, even a hairdressing course in the hope of meeting someone. He even became a regular visitor at the libary in case he found a girl friend there. He's travelled all over the world looking for a female, even to Thailand, but he returned on his own! My partner became really worried about his friend when he had met a Russian girl off the internet, from a less than savoury site. The girl is only 23 years, wheras this guy is 40 years old (and a virgin at that!). Anyway he'd travelled to the Ukraine to meet her and bought her back home to London to live with him. Even though she barely speaks a word of English she wishes to become a student over here in Britain. This guy is funding her student life here and he is now planning to marry the girl! My partner had another friend who at 44 years old, married an 18 year old girl from Thailand. She spoke little English, but after finding her feet (the guy paid for her driving lessons, bought her a car, and she began meeting people her own age) she had divorced this man and pocketed half his savings in the process. He'd lost his house and also his dignity. His 1st wife and kids had disowned him, totally ashamed of him after he'd walked out on them for this Thai bride. With this in mind we are both a little concerned how his friend with the Russian girl is going to end up! He's already sold his house (he had a 2nd property he'd been renting out to tenants) in London to fund her. Well only time will tell. I just don't understand why these men let themselves appear so desperate, as it's the sure way NOT to find a girlfriend. But then they end up buying themselves foreign girls from 2nd world countries!
