![]() | This July, EntranceMe has been letting us in on her life and her blog. According to her profile, she's a "fun, flirtatious 40-something looking for adventures!" But, being the curious folk that we are, we wanted to know MORE! So we're kicking this off with a good old-fashioned interview. Come along for the ride, and check back all month long! |
Ok Miss Blogger 'o the Month! You've said that you have a lot of ambition when it comes to writing. Who are your favorite authors? Favorite books? What inspires you to write? Also, what would you like to write? Articles, novels, short stories? (sorry about all the questions packed in one!)
Sure you're sorry. You love to pack multiple questions in one section dontcha?! Let me see what I can do with this: I have too many authors to list but some will appear in my next answer. Here are a few of my favorite/memorable novels and not in any order---Prince of Tides by Pat Conroy, Kane & Abel and the sequel The Prodigal Daughter by Jeffrey Archer, Outlander by Diana Gabaldon, Fountainhead by Ayn Rand. I've read every book written by LaVyrle Spencer, and I laugh along with the Janet Evanovich One For The Money series. I also love novels which involve someone slipping back into time, set in Scotland or Ireland.
As far as what inspires me to write: Life in general inspires me. My life, my kids, people---I am open and compassionate, deep feeling and thinking and, okay, this is going to sound way strange to some but here it is: I have this unique ability to truly connect with people. From all walks of life and from all around the world. I have had several spiritual experiences which have b l o w n m e a w a y! FF has played a very integral role in this. Very integral indeed.
Now to address your last question: What do I want to write? Well that's easy to answer: A guide to developing beauty and confidence from within.
| As a single mom, how do you balance being a parent with being a person looking for love? Does having kids affect your outlook on dating, or on who you would date? Why I jiggle of course. I mean juggle LOL. I juggle it! Seriously though, my kids come first, and I don't expose them to my dating life in any way. Nuh-uh, nope, no-way, no how!! And as a result of such, I have little free time to date. The typical every-other-weekend arrangement with custody allows for some free time. On these "free weekends" I go out with friends, or on dates, and often times, I just chill out at home. Alone. **pouts and sighs** Having kids doesn't affect my outlook on dating, but it absolutely influences the type of man I look for and wish to have in my life. It sucks being a single parent of young ones who must be considered in all I do. Not only am I hoping for a life partner/husband for myself, I am also searching for a great step-father. One who has a child or children of his own that are (hopefully!) close to the ages of my kids. I want a man who understands what parenting is all about and the sacrifices we parents often have to make for our kids. I'm looking for all of this rolled into one extraordinary and unique man. Not something that is easy to find when you take into consideration my age. I know he's out there though; I have faith in this. If I were single with no kids, (and trust me on this one) I would be handling my dating life very differently. | ![]() |
I noticed your comments to Cole Steven's article in the magazine on men, women, and going from "just friends" to "more than friends." I was wondering if you wanted to expound on that any--it's always nice to get multiple views up on the site! Do you disagree about the "2 Scoring Systems" thing?
A. You are a pot-stirring trouble-making I'll have you know **sticks out tongue at you** Allow me to copy and paste one of my blog comments about Cole's article and post it here. I think it pretty much sums up my thoughts:
"...In the article, while there are a few valid points I agree with, I see no facts. And I have no fact to state or quote, only my opinion on such. I am not here to "flame" his article, I truly am curious to the opinions of other women and men.
What it all boils down to, from my perspective, is: his point of view makes men appear as score setting lechers who will have sex with ANY woman. Excluding moms and sisters and simply add alcohol for the very ugly ones. Not a very pretty picture...funny to a degree yet not flattering at all. For the women: gold digging, emotionally needy, ego-chasing, shallow hoochie mamas looking for a wealthy man to take care of her or an ugly one for a support system. Again, humorous and not flattering.
What he proposes is that women and men cannot be "just friends." That men are ultimately and always waiting for the moment to jump her bones. Unless of course the man is gay. I find this ludicrous and comical.
If more men honestly felt this way, we women would surely turn gay and the adult-toy industry would become a multi-zillion dollar commerce. Then we women would take over the world, make all men into eunuchs and have them service us and tend to our every need. In a friendly way of course."
If there was one thing you could change about FF, what would it be?
Can I select one thing from each category? Pleeeeeeeeeease **bats eyes** Okay, this one took me some time to answer. I had to think of "one" thing...sorry--I know this means I would like to see a few changes. Can I take a poll on this and get back to you with what the members vote would be lol? Ummm, well my answer is...ummm, I suppose it would be to ask for a better monitoring system. Site-wide hehe! Lighten up a bit on the blogs with the language you no longer allow and then tighten up on the chat rooms to rid them of trolls/troublemakers. I believe this would bring people back who have left because of the way things have gone down. I am not picking on you guys nor am I saying you have it all wrong. Just some things **winks**
I would love to see Administration post its own blog (like the sister site does) and run competitions. Ask for our opinions on site changes. Inform us when new beta's are to be implemented etc. Oh wait, you did not ask me what "new" thing I would like to see added lol.
I can't help but notice the bike on your main profile pic--are you into bikes? What's the story there?
Your question should have been are bikes into me, this is a Harley after all. All joking aside, I am asked this question quite a bit. The Harley pictured belongs to one of my 6 brother's. His name is George and I love him to bits! He made a surprise visit to my sister's home one day, I happened to be there, and he asked if I would take some pictures of and on his bike. I almost always have my digital camera on me so off we went to the front yard. This is only one of the many poses he had me in! It was a great family day. In fact, I have the perfect "blackmail" photo of him, and I posted it in one of my blogs lol. I should use it as the cover for my Christmas cards this year. Ahhhh, the sweet revenge of a little sister. My family does not call me Lil Shit for nuffin **innocently grins as I walk out of this Q&A session tired and content**
