If you could get paid to do anything, what would you pick? In other words, what's your dream job?

"One of the things I have always thought would be totally fun would be that of a career in fashion modeling.

"I'm sure like anything else, somewhere down the road one would become tired of that so called "glamorous life" too -- but to try (and even being able to say that!) would be awesome."

"I'd love to be a strategist or 'futurologist.' My ideal job would consist of monitoring, predicting, and influencing the direction that economies, industries, and entire societies would take.

"Most importantly, I would like to get paid whether I'm right or wrong, just for having the chutzpah to give it a shot and write about in an engaging way. Anyone hiring?"

"Me? I've always wanted to be a cop. This might sound ridiculous, but I like the prospect of kicking the bad guy's ass!

"Really, though, I just like helping people, and if I can do something to get rid of people who want to harm others than it just makes my day even better. Also, there's something appealing about the excitement: I'd love a job in which every day is different."

"I've always though that, if I could do anything, I'd be a horticulturist. I've surprised a lot of people by saying that, which is why I'd have to say, 'Just give me a chance!' I love nature, and seeing beautiful things grow: watching all the colors of the flowers blooming in the summer and fall, and taking long walks in the fresh air . . . these sort of things make me feel most alive. Even on long motorcycle rides I'm usually tuned into the natural world around me!

"I just love living things. I love animals, and love plants, and I guess, too, I like knowing that some of them need me. I have a good heart and a caring touch and I think I'd make a wonderful nursery worker."

What about you? What did you want to be when you grew up? And if, today, you could pick your career, what would you choose?
