Aug 20, 2008 8:22 am Mood: thoughtful, 50 Views | Charlotte County Homeless Coalition has a place that supplies the homeless with hot meals on a nightly basis. There are some of us who use it call it the Diner. So if I ever refer to the Diner in my blogs, you will know what I am talking about.

| Would Sam had done it. |
Aug 20, 2008 8:18 am Mood: contemplative, 54 Views | | I was at the entrance of the local Walmart when I heard a peron complaining about a carnival game there he had been playing. It is the one where you have a metal device that goes down and grabs a stuffed animal. He had said that he should have had the prize but the machine cheated him. That got me to wondering would Samuel Walton, the founder of Walmart, have had such machines in his stores while he was alive?

| Turning over in thier graves |
Aug 20, 2008 8:14 am Mood: contemplative, 46 Views | MILWAUKEE — August Busch IV, chief executive of Anheuser-Busch Cos. (BUD) will be paid nearly $10.4 million after the brewer is sold to InBev and $120,000 a month to consult for the new company through the end of 2013. Terms of the consulting deal are currently being negotiated, according to a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission made Friday.
Busch, a member of the St. Louis-based brewer's founding family, will also be eligible for an additional payment of $13.3 million on various change in control payments and benefits, the filing said.
Last month, the brewer of Bud Light and Budweiser announced it had agreed to be sold to InBev, the Belgium-based maker of Stella Artois, Beck's and Bass. The deal is worth $52 billion.
The two companies will combine to create Anheuser-Busch-InBev. The combined company's North American headquarters will remain in St. Louis.

Now August Busch IV, father and grandfather would be turning over in their graves to see what is going on. They would never have sold out to anyone but August Busch IV is a different story. How sad.

Aug 15, 2008 8:04 am Mood: thoughtful, 84 Views | Not a Depression, But Still Causing Trouble.
Despite this low pressure not yet being classified a depression, thunderstorms capable of heavy downpours and deadly flash flooding, along with locally gusty winds will spread from Puerto Rico into Hispaniola today and across parts of eastern Cuba, The Turks, Caicos, and the southeast Bahamas on Saturday.
Given the current upper-level wind pattern and computer model forecasts there are several possible forecast scenarios regarding this systems eventual track. Given this, residents from the Bahamas, to Florida, to the Southeastern U.S. Coast should continue to monitor the progression of this system through the weekend and into early next week. _________________________________________________
They will know more about it latter today when they send out their plane to check it out. It may not hit here or it may. If it does hopefully it will just be a rain storm, but one never knows what will happen. I already have some can goods in my camp as well as 4 gallons of water. If the worst comes there is an emergency shelter that I will head for and ride it out there.

| Chiquitita |
Aug 9, 2008 10:05 am Mood: cheerful, 86 Views | The following is a song by ABBA. On the cassette that I had it was not sung in English. After seeing the movie I now know what the words are. _________________________________________________
Chiquitita, tell me what's wrong You're enchained by your own sorrow In your eyes there is no hope for tomorrow How i hate to see you like this There is no way you can deny it I can see that you're oh so sad, so quiet
Chiquitita, tell me the truth I'm a shoulder you can cry on Your best friend, i'm the one you must rely on You were always sure of yourself * * * > Now i see you've broken a feather I hope we can patch it up together
Chiquitita, you and i know How the heartaches come and they go and the scars they're leaving You'll be dancing once again and the pain will end You will have no time for grieving Chiquitita, you and i cry But the sun is still in the sky and shining above you Let me hear you sing once more like you did before Sing a new song, chiquitita Try once more like you did before Sing a new song, chiquitita
So the walls came tumbling down And your love's a blown out candle All is gone and it seems too hard to handle Chiquitita, tell me the truth There is no way you can deny it I see that you're oh so sad, so quiet
Chiquitita, you and i know How the heartaches come and they go and the scars they're leaving You'll be dancing once again and the pain will end You will have no time for grieving Chiquitita, you and i cry But the sun is still in the sky and shining above you Let me hear you sing once more like you did before Sing a new song, chiquitita Try once more like you did before Sing a new song, chiquitita Try once more like you did before Sing a new song, chiquitita

Now that I have shared the English version with you I hope that it has brightened someones heart here.
