The first such Mother's Day was celebrated in Grafton, West Virginia, on May 10, 1908, in the church where the elder Anna Jarvis had taught Sunday School. Grafton is the home to the International Mother's Day Shrine.

A new sign idea May 10, 2008 10:36 am

This idea came to me this morning as I was on my bike heading to my storage unit. Let's see what you think.

"Please Help. Working my way to Yellowstone, Wyoming."

The last time I was at Yellowstone National Park was in 1966. I remember this because it was at the same time that St. Louis had baseball All-Star game. I was 12 years old at that time and do not remember to much about Yellowstone. Right now I am thinking that I may never have a chance to get up there again in my life. So, why not do it now.

Yesterday I ordered my tent from the Walmart Web site. No store in the area had a small size tent. Now the delivery time will be between May 20 and May 28. I hope that it will be the sooner date but will have to wait and see.

A balancing act May 10, 2008 10:23 am

It was 14 inches long, 14 inches wide and 14 inches high. When I got it to the post office this morning it weighed 29 pounds 8.4 ounces. Nothing in the box was real heavy. The heaviest things was a Bible that I received when I was 8 years old.
You should have seen me carrying it on the front of my bike for the mile and a half from my storage unit to the post office. Now I did my best to weave as little as possible but when you have something that is really to big to fit in your bike basket you are bound to do some weaving.
Another thing checked off of my list of things I have to do before I get out of here.
