Mood: aggravated, 133 Views | I was on my bike heading down to my storage locker to get some things out to send to my sister to hold for me. I stopped at a street and then crossed it. In the middle of the street my bike pedal without any advance warning went flying off. I had my bike only for four days now when this happened. So, I took it back to Walmart. They replaced the pedal and also the back wheel gear as the guy that fixes bikes there determined that it was defective as well. Now it looks like it will rain and I will put off going down to the storage shed until the weather clears up.  | |

Mood: cheerful, 123 Views | A Long Way from Chicago is a children's "novel in stories" by Richard Peck. It was awarded the Newbery Honor distinction in 1999.

That means that it was written for children to read but after hearing all these commercials on the radio about it I decided to read it myself. The stories are short and amusing. The last one will bring a tear to your eyes. At least it did to me. | |
