| Just a poem. |
Dec 28, 2007 10:01 am 995 Views | | Passing of each day, the pain gets much worse, not less, Even my thoughts of you become much more, not less, The longing desire deep within me, gets stronger, not less, I wanted to know you and need you much more, not less.
You led the way and told me it was not to be, no more, Said good bye, left, you walked out the door, no more, I asked you questions a plea, it went unheard, no more, Alas I have to accept it, it wasn’t meant to be, no more.
They say healing a heart takes time, I know, I move on, How can something end which never started, I move on, You pass through my life each and every day, I move on, I want to stop and talk to you, futile I fear so, I move on.
They say things happen for a reason, others are, not to be, Acceptance is a quality I’ve learnt in life, this time, not to be, I wander on life’s thin and lonely path, perhaps it’s, not to be, I hope you find true love and happiness, for me it’s, not to be. |

| Nicknames!!! |
Dec 27, 2007 2:31 pm 1068 Views | | What is yours????
What nicknames have you been given throughout your life? As you might guess I’ve been doing a bit of reminiscing here back to my school days. Oh so long ago. lol. But something stuck in my mind about one of my best chums/pals/mates from those days. His name was Michael Daily and we as a group of friends would call him “Thicky” as in Thick Mick. i.e. he was from Ireland and it was the norm to call the Irish/ Paddy’s thick, then, and many jokes have been made on this assumption. Totally unfounded I might add. But probably in this day of political correctness, I might be in jail for saying that. Anyway if you have been given a nickname and you know the reason why, please share and say what was the reason or connection was? And which was your favourite. I’ve been given a few names here on FF ..i.e. muppet, gnat, Ugly and plonker, but I wont count them. lol. So if you want to give your real name and an explanation of your nickname. Please do so, if you don't, then we might struggle to understand your reasons/meaning. RIGHT. My real name is: Tony (not Anthony) Stapleton, by the way.lol Ok I’ll start the ball rolling, starting with my earliest recollection. Steptoe... named after a popular English sitcom, a rag and bone man... Because my surname sounded vaguely familiar to steptoe.!! Or at least I hope so! Tone bone.. because my name Tony (or Tone) rhymed with Bone. From this came Boner, and even Bone head.!!! No other comments accepted here! LOL. Which led to my handle here... toneboney. And finally Tango... due to the phonetic alphabet...i.e. T for Tango was the phonetic of the letter T, i.e. Tony. I must admit that my favourite was.... a nickname beginning with “N” Not hard to work out, but who said life was easy. I hope you join in the fun here. Tone. |

| A day in the life. lol |
Dec 27, 2007 4:58 am 902 Views | | --- ---
Well here I am again, fresh and sober. (I don’t do getting drunk only merry.) As foolishly promised last night this is my blog of “A day in the life of a Gnat” All characters are fictional and bare no resemblance to me. lol.
Right, I woke up in the morning, feeling sorry for myself over recent events...hm! Oh yeah and the fact I burnt my Christmas day potatoes.. I said to myself.. Bones get your butt into gear and get out and enjoy yourself. So off I went, to start my day with a coffee down the Port. (thinks...) Try somewhere new that I haven’t been before. Right Go go go. Anyway on the road to the Port are some derelict buildings, which I think were left there for Graffiti writers and lovers! For several months there has been one such writing that always stuck in my mind. “Kasos Loves Pat” ah bless them. But today some one had added some more words. “Not any more” lol. Sad but, it’s life. So I park my car and sat for a while admiring the mountains and sea view and reflect just how lucky I really am. So I wander along the sea front and choose my new Cafe and enter.... wow Gobsmacked...(I pinched this word from some one else he he). I digress a little here. Over a year ago I used to go regularly to a little Spanish cafe, (Not a Brit. to be seen, It was lovely). They always made me welcome & I became friendly with the staff there, bar maids and owner alike, and occasionally the odd game of pool and a joke, across the language barrier with them. Then, as I said previously over a year ago I went to have a coffee there, BUT! after a night of heavy wind and rain, the ceiling had collapsed, and I never saw any of them again. Yes you’re ahead of me... My new chosen cafe was being run by Juan. I was greeted like an old lost friend, after hand shakes and hugs from the barmaids (hmm I liked that bit. lol). It turns out They had been there for four months. Nice new place, a bit up market but no pool table ha! It didn’t have the character of the other cafe, but hey! it was nice to meet up with these lovely people again. Next on the agenda, was a tapas lunch with distant friends who only meet up very occasionally. Two people were in conversation, (They had not seen each other for a few years). Then the woman (who had quite a loud voice) said, “So how big is your Willy now?” well... we just all rolled around laughing. Yes the man had a young son called William, shortened to Willy. Goodbyes said and time for me to prepare for the Big evening event at my local bar/restaurant. I was one of the first to arrive, so I got roped into collecting the Tickets as people entered, whilst Inis, (Spanish waiter come ticket collector) went to arrange the Buffet.... Yeah I never saw him again and muggings here ended up being the doorman come bouncer. It amazed me the attitude of some people when I simply asked for their tickets!!! You would have thought I’d told them They were Ugly.. Still live and let live. Anyway I had a bit of a laugh when some of them went outside to go to the loo... When they came back I asked them for Their tickets,, No ticket no Entry. That got a few good laughs and a few comments. That I wont repeat here. Next, Oh yes I got chatted up twice... Once by a 70 year old woman who in the course of conversation, asked me not to wake her up when I got up to cook her Breakfast... lol They other I can only describe as an angel, I asked her, her name etc. and asked if she had a boyfriend back in the UK. She replied No, but you can be my new boyfriend if you want... ah bless her... The sweetness and innocence of an eleven year old. So the evening rolled on, dancing, chatting and having a good laugh. Then home alone and to bed. Calling in on FF and making the rash promise to do this blog. Today is another day I wonder what it holds for me? Have fun Bloggers. Tone. |

Yes I have just got back from a party... so I am a little, inknee... inibriate... in... Ah what the heck a bit Pi$$hed.. The whole day was a laugh, a mish-mash. I don't usually blog on my everyday occurrences. But I had a really good day today. So maybe tomorrow???. But don't watch this space, because I might not remember in the morning.. Dec 24, 2007 2:55 pm 782 Views | | Lost and confused within life’s gentle stream, Inability to communicate, so it would seem, Thoughts and feelings tumble within my head, All that appears there is just one word... RED.
For Red is a colour of love and also of fear, A red heart is for love, for someone very dear, But also it is for Danger, tread carefully I say, So, hold back my emotions, come what may.
Be true and honest deep within your own self, Thus suffering no trauma, or mental ill health, Be very certain, of what you want and need, Don’t be afraid to sow, plant, loves first seed.
Greens and yellows, are to, colours but not red, Pass through tranquilly, no damage to my head, But the colour Red has cut me like a blunt knife, So Blood seeps from me, soon I will have no life.
Wait, it is the season to love, be happy to rejoice, I hear a guardian Angel a soothing melodic voice, Here Tone have a double, double whisky with ice, Thanks Angel, just what I needed, kind and so nice.
Well I had to put a stupid ending or else you might think I was gonna top meself.
Merry Crimbo Tone. |

| Did you get it?? |
Dec 23, 2007 6:24 am Mood: In a Bogoff sort of mood!, 706 Views | | Well here is a simple little rhyme, Maybe to help you pass the time, For all you simple people out there, Don’t look round and say where?
You may not think it to be so funny, Well I’m not a genie, just a bunny, I can’t make your wishes come true, Just stop you from feeling a little blue.
If I had one wish, a wish upon a star, I’d wish you here, from where you are, Oh to have these powers and behold, To wish none would ever, to get old.
If I’ve made you cry, and not to laugh, Then please put my head into your bath, It will not depress me nor make me sad, Because unlike you....... I have a Dad.!!!! |

Dec 23, 2007 2:18 am 669 Views | | Two elderly gentlemen from a retirement center were sitting on a bench under a tree when one turns to the other and says: "Slim, I'm 83 years old now and I'm just full of aches and pains. I know you're about my age. How do you feel?"
Slim says, "I feel just like a newborn baby."
"Really!? Like a newborn baby!?"
"Yep. No hair, no teeth, and I think I just wet my pants."

Dec 20, 2007 11:15 am 876 Views | | Visions of you drift slowly, softly across the shifting sands, As you reach out for me, I tremble, hands touching hands, A kaleidoscope of vivid colour, fills the cloudless skyline, My troubles all forgotten, since you became, only mine.
The breeze sensually moves your hair, across your face, As I brush your soft cheek, touching your collar of lace, Gently, slowly I lift your face, as your eyes gaze into mine, Slowly, Oh so softly ,our lips touch, a kiss so sweet, divine.
Stillness, not wanting to break this loving, emotional embrace, For now, time is of no essence, lingering not wanting to race, My fingers slowly and delicately move to tantalise your hair, And also, my lips linger, on forward to your neck, so beware.
Your body pressed close to me, you’ve seduced my soul, Our hearts beat together, loving, not separate but whole, You know that I love you, and it will last forever and a day, Safe with each other, words not spoken, with nothing to say.
Slowly we part, breathing heavily, from the passion we share, Again the breeze, breaths life into your long, flowing, blond hair, You gave me all your love, it is safe here so deep in my heart, To be cherished, remembered and loved whilst we are apart. |
