| Easter Flowers |
Apr 22, 2008 10:44 am 861 Views | | I promised you to post more flowers for the joy of your eyes, specially for those whose spring is behind. This flower is from the family of Clivia, Nobility Orchid, Qin-zi Lan, Kaffir Lily, Bush Lily, St John's Lily, Fire Lily, Clivia miniata. In nature, it grows only in forests in South Africa. The plant has been cultivated and cross-bred to produce different foliage or flower color, most notably in Japan and China, where a rare new-bred plant can cost more than US$1,000. Clivia is considered 'Queen of Houseplants'.
The flower on the pic is my mum's Clivia. We grow them in pots in our homes, put them to sleep in winter and uncover them for the light in March. They give their beautiful blossoms just before Easter and grace our homes for the holiday, hence their name.
Our Eastern Orthodox Easter is coming and on Thursday we will be painting the eggs ! Guess Kati and Msalchemy are already in their homes with their families for the holiday.
It's Earth Day today. Let's hope we'll keep it alive for us as long as possible !

| To My American and Canadian Friends |
Apr 21, 2008 12:10 pm 678 Views | | My dear Canadian and American friends,
I read on the blogs today that you have snow again, in mid April. I'm so sorry that you can't get rid of the grasp of cold and winter yet. I almost feel guilty that I enjoy warm sunny weather because I care for you. I can't change the weather in your places but I'm posting for you here a pic with tulips from our sea park to give joy to your eyes. When I'm sad or feel cold, beautiful sights warm my heart. Hope this helps you, too.
I will post more flowers later. Successful week to all my friends !
With my love, SL |

| About Bulgarian Palm Sunday or Flower's Day |
Apr 20, 2008 4:40 am 875 Views | | Hallo dear friends,
I like to write to you about Bulgarian traditions and customs, that's why I want to tell you that it is Flower's Day today in Bulgaria. We also call it Willow Day and similarly to Catholic Church, we celebrate it on the Sunday before Eastern Orthodox Christian Easter, our Easter. All people named after flowers or trees have a name day today, including my elder son whose name is Yavor(Sycamore). Unfortunately, he is not in Bulgaria and with me, and I'm sharing his name day with you, my friends.
Here is some information about the bearing of this holiday. Flower's Day (Palm Sunday) is one of the greatest and most important Bulgarian traditional feasts, celebrated by a large variety of customs, songs and melodies. According to the tradition it is a holiday of fields, meadows and forests. Ever since pagan times, the Slavs believed that willow had the feature to protect people from evil, black magic, and help people, animals and crops escape diseases and natural disaster. That is why we bring home from the church willow branches and make wreaths of them which we hang on our doors to bring us luck, health and keep us from diseases during the year. At this time our gardens are graced with the colours and scent of hyacinth, lilac, tulips and water lilies.
I brought the wreath and the tulip posted on the photo from the church and it is a present from me to you for your holiday or weekend, to keep you healthy

| Some Thoughts of Mine |
Apr 12, 2008 2:47 pm 1163 Views | | Well, I decided to sort out some of my thoughts here. Forbidden for underaged - they have the right to get their portion of illusions in life
Here we go !
> Prejudice is the child of narrowmindedness
>Weakness leads to meanness
>Clever people are often tricked by the cunning of the stupid
>Give the fool a crown and he will turn it into a peepot
>Women are angels while they are opening their legs for a man. When they stop, they become sl*ts
>You can understand one's character better if you hurt him/her than if you give him/her love
>Experience doesn't make us happier. It deprives us of the joy of the spontaneous rapture
>Time has to be harnessed and ridden !
So don't lose time but argue, agree, add your own thoughts or just say hallo and pass by. Hmm, I think I need Dan here to confront me with some of his enlightening thoughts
It was 22*C/70*+F here again - T-shirts, warm sand, green park, colours, colours and the first lilac in bloom ! I picked up some from the park and now it smells sweet in my room
Wish you a sweet Sunday rest tomorrow !
It's 01.00 am with me and I'm watching the movie "Americano". What about you ?

| When Love Is Not Enough |
Apr 10, 2008 2:35 pm 1113 Views | | When love is not enough, it's time to let it go. Don't stay in hurt engulfed but let it go, let it go.
Get overworked to full exhaust, thus let it go, let it go. Let others for a new chance toss, you let it go, let it go.
Crush emptiness by melting in the mob and let it go, let it go. You will be better finding new kind of a hope, so let it go, let it go.
Nothing new here, friends, just expressing in my way what you've already said in your blogs.
This is a pic of a sunset, not a sunrise. I'm telling you because sometimes when I'm looking at your pics, I can't tell which is which, lol.
Have a cheerful rest of the week. I'm going to bed now. Nite nite.
Love, SL |
