The sea was extremely beautiful today - turquoise blue and the sun's glistens on its surface were like the mica backs of thousands flocks of fish racing through it...
Wish you a hot with emotions Sunday evening and an happy week ahead.

....today!!!! ... The water is still coldish but it was so invitingly smooth after the yesterday rain that I couldn't resist it. Aaah, it was such a great feeling to spread arms and legs in motion again cleaving through the green expanse of the sea, it almost feels like flying...I have been waiting for this moment whole six months..that's half of my life in a year, grrr..
But it's summer again, and it's my time. I'm happy
Wish you a happy Sunday !

"Keep your money for the museums, mum. You have supported me for so long, it's my turn now", said my son, knowing what a museum freak I am. And he made me this present, paying everything for this trip of mine, beginning with my fare flight....Thank you, my son, I'm so happy with you.
Belgium is a country with very beautiful towns, Antwerpen being one of the most beautiful I have seen. And I don't mean the buildings of the museums and the churches only but all residential quarters with little squares and statues in the middle, and houses with character of their own and ornamented facades. Besides, it is spacy and airy.
It's only that nothing sweet is sweet enough in their cuisine, nothing salty is really salty...but drab like their weather, lol...Not really cold in winter, cloudy, rainy and not warm in summer. "It's far, you can't walk in this rain", Belgians used to tell me. "Oh, the rain will stop", answered I. I had learnt the whims of their weather. And it really stopped, even the sun peeped for seconds, then it started to rain again. Western Europe, lol...Yet, it wasn't THAT cold as in Paris, wow...But that's another story...
I posted for you five pics of Antwerpen, on the down left pic is my eldest in front of his working place, the building in brown and green.
It's already summer here and I was twice at the beach, such a bliss I even allowed the sea to splash my bottom today but it is still cold for more intimacy
May the good weather with you makes your forthcoming week cheerful!!!
Love from me,

In the Hague with Kati

 Hi my friends,
You know that a person mustn't talk with his mouth full? It's been already five days since I came back home and I'm still digesting the huge amount of information I swallowed for a week. I even haven't downloaded on my computer all the pics I took - 560 in number ...
But I want to tell you about my last two days from my trip, which I spent in the Hague, and I want to tell you that I wouldn't have had such a sunny memory about this city if it weren't for Kati
Of course, we both were late for our meeting at the station, typical in Balkan style, lol...But then the hug was so tight, only the way two Balkan girls can embrace each other In fact, Kati was late because she wanted to print five paper sheets of information about the Hague for me. "Kati, I read the information on the train back as I promised you"
Hey, she was sooo attentive to me all the time...And she dragged me sightseeing right away, lol. So on the day of my arrival we saw the presidency, the Queen's Palace, and the Palace of Peace where the International Court of Justice abides. The last one impressed me a lot. In front of the palace there was a monument with the World Peace Flame and a circle of stones on the ground where each of 196 nations have their stone. Kati and I found the stones of Bulgaria and Rumania.
In the evening we went to a restaurant called "My Ex" , and Kati ate the balls of her ex who at the moment is not her ex any more, but yeah, she ate his eggs anyway, the meal was on the menu
Wow, and I really slept in Kati's royal king size bed and we were 'kletsen, kletsen' as she says, i.e. talked, talked till 2 am.
On the next day Kati, her present/ex boyfriend and I went to Madurodam, wow, you go and see that...It's a theme park, a replica of all beautiful and important buildings all over Holland. The ONLY sunny day during my whole week in Western Europe! It was a great day
Kati is a warm soul, a vivacious sunny person just as I expected. And again as when I met Misty and Riny, I had the feeling that I'm meeting an old friend. Kati had prepared a whole cultural programme for me sweetened by her hospitality, liveliness and wish to make me feel comfortable and welcome. I'm happy I met her. I'm only sorry that she won't be able to pay back my visit and come to Bulgaria this summer but the doors of my home are always open for her.
Thank you, Kati !
I have posted pics from my trip and will continue to post. All my friends are welcome to see them.
Will tell you about the rest of my travel in my next post
Love,

Eeeh, now the trees groomed themselves in leaves again, just in a week , and the air is filled with the scent of multi-colour blossoms, what a diffrence it makes to our senses...My eyes are shining in rapture as if I were a teenager in love while walking in the green of the park with a goofy but happy smile on my face..19*C today, and the lilac has blossomed ...
Yeah, it's a happy weekend today ...Tomorrow will take pictures for you during my walk by the sea..

Looking Back

 Hi my friends,
Today was a day that one dimly notices how it has come and gone. It was chilly and the veil of clouds were making the day even less noticeable. But I knew that the warmth of the log fire would make my place cosy. And it was lovely that no strangers were coming home - I mean students or the social care woman. And I was on my own with myself. This was a time of inner repose for me. In the silence of my solitude today, from the depths of my past and from the tips of my senses a thought emerged in my mind,
"It is the deep ditches that the torrents of tears leave in our hearts after they have run dry"...
Hmm, a melancholy mood born by another sullen spring day... But we always tell each other to look ahead...So let's look forward where the sun is awaiting for us.
Wish you all a cheerful week !

My Easter Eggs

Orthodox Easter this year is one week later than the Catholic one...So here are my Easter eggs with the pics of my precious ones ... Chocolate eggs are not popular with us ..We boil fresh eggs and then paint them in all the beautiful colours of the Earth. The red one symbolizes Christ's blood and we make a cross on the foreheads of the children in the family for health with the first painted red egg. We paint them on Great Thursday, that is the day of the Secret Dinner, priests perform a mass taking the crosses out of the churches thus symbolizing the beginning of Chist's drama.
On Easter everybody picks up an egg and we do the so-called 'egg tapping' or 'egg dumping', the winner being the holder of the last intact egg. The broken eggs are peeled and chopped in the fresh salad made of lettuce, cucumbers, spring onion and tomatoes. The main dish is usually roast lamb shoulder filled with rice, walnuts, spring onion, mint and other spices. Easter cake is also a traditional presence on the table.
But this Easter I am making a special fruit tart, too, because my younger son is coming home for the holiday with his girlfriend and he has a name day on Easter ...I and my mum will not be alone and the waft of youth will fill in the home, yipppeee !!!! And this is the reason I'm writing my Easter post earlier because when my son arrives I will be busy, busy!
So Happy Easter to all Orthodox Christians ! May your strength be revived !!!
And happy weekend to the rest of my blog friends !
Yours, SL

Flower's Day/ Easter Sunday

Happy Easter, my Catholic friends ! May this holiday resurrect your strength and energy and brings peace and love in your homes !
It will be Flower's Day tomorrow in Bulgaria. We also call it Willow Day and similarly to Catholic Church, we celebrate it on the Sunday before Eastern Orthodox Christian Easter, which this year will be on May 19, next Sunday. All people named after flowers or trees have a name day on Flower's Day, including my eldest son whose name is Yavor(Sycamore).
Flower's Day or Willow Day is one of the greatest Bulgarian feasts and according to the tradition it is a holiday of fields, meadows and forests. Ever since pagan times, the Slavs, our ancestors, believed that the willow had the feature to protect people from evil, black magic, and help people, animals and crops escape diseases and natural disaster. That is why we bring home from the church willow branches and make wreaths of them which we hang on our doors to bring us luck, health and keep us from diseases during the year. At this time our gardens are graced with the colours and scent of hyacinth, lilac, tulips and water lilies.
I hope your egg will be the strongest tomorrow and you will have a happy time with your family and friends !
Love, SL

Yeah, it's spring already ....The flavoury smell of the sea breeze hovering in the city and hitting my nostrils with its freshness, mingled with the shy fragrance of the newly bloomed peach and plum trees is intoxicating...And yesterday I sat on the warm sand for the first time this year. The park lawns were covered with little wild flowers and I filled my vase with colour...
I'm posting a pic of oleander bush from the park for you to see how the trees and the bushes look like after Bulgarian people have taken off their March martenitsas, he-he...
The magic of nature, the joy for the senses has begun ! ..And my heart is singing
Sorry, my friends, that I haven't been round your blogs lately but I will do it at first possibility
Enjoy your week and the spring!
Love, SL
