1945 Views
Thank you for tagging me, Oldhoglover, rrrhhh...!

As I already wrote on some blogs, I can't follow rules strictly ( one of my problems in life ! ), so I will answer some of the questions and some I will not.

I'm tagging in my turn:

Fairgo9
Mistytraveller
Muse2u
EarthHostage
ndpendentlady44
Ireland
Bellezia
Eimee
Quaint47
Sir T
Gowerboy ( are you there, Gower ? )
Drivedan ( if he comes back)
TJRUG2286 ( what a difficult handle !)

Can I tag more people ? OK, I'll stop here.

TAG! You're it ...And do it better than me !
** The directions are at the end **

Some things you may or may not know about me in no particular order:

1. I have a Sweetheart who isn't blogging at the moment but I hope he'll resume doing it
2. I sunbathe topless when there aren't acquaintances around, it isn't forbidden in Bulgaria and I find it healthy
3 My students love me and I love them and this energizes me a lot although I'm going to make an early retirement from school in September...
4. I won't be blogging much for some time because I'll be flooded by guests who want to share the sea with me, ho-ho-ho !
5. I love you all, that's why I'm putting myself to this dissection, he-he...

Jobs I have had in my life:
1-5. I've been a high school teacher in English
all my life,... all my life ? Yes, it seems to me like that, I began teaching when I was 20. I haven't practised another job by now.

Movies I've watched more than once:
1. The War of the Rose Family ( I watched it last 2 nights ago)
2. The English Patient
3. The Day before Yesterday
4. Jurasic Park
5. Surely there are other films I've watched more than once but I don't remember now

Places I have lived:
1-5: I've lived all my life in my native city.
I only moved to another city for 5 years where I finished my higher education, then I came back to practise in my native city again.

T.V. Shows that I watch:
1-4: Don't watch shows at all. I usually watch the evening news and a nice film if there is any.
Oh, forgot, I love to watch the Traveller Program but it's not on my cable at the moment.

Places I have been:
1. Europe ( Hungary, Czechoslovakia, Rumania, Turkey, Greece, Germany, Belgium, Holland, Great Britain )
2. the former USSR ( Russia, the Ukraine )
3. New England, the USA

My favorite foods:
1-4.I don't have any; don't look at food as an important part of my life. But what I can't stand is sweetened meat,sorry... Anyway, I eat tomatoes all the year round.

Four places I would rather be right now:
1-4. I like it here right now ! Mmmm, the sea...
But I'd like to travel more...

I am looking forward to...
1-4. ... meeting precious guests

DIRECTIONS: Now, here's what you're supposed to do... And please do not spoil the fun. Delete my answers and type in your answers. Post
on others blogs as 24Hrs TAG! .... send this to a Whole bunch of people you know or don't, INCLUDING the person who tagged you. The Theory is that you will learn a lot of little known facts about those who know you. Remember to Tag it back to the person who tagged you first, within 24Hrs.

I hope I didn't get you bored, lol !

Sorry, Friends, Here Is the Photo Aug 14, 2007 6:35 am

And here is the photo again, this time on my two posts, he-he...

I live only 300m from the beach. I usually take the distance in 5 minutes, so impatient am I to feel the embrace of the sea.

I like the way the smooth water caresses my body while swimming - like the touch of man's fingers on my skin. I lie on the hot sand, my hands stretched over my head, fully devoted to the sun. The gentle breeze flutters over me, teasing me, soothing me...

The splash of the waves in my feet, the song of the birds in the park behind me...it's a feeling
of bliss.

Wish each of you to feel some of the summer bliss in one way or another !

Photos for the Blogstock and a Post, no, a Tost to My Birthday..... Aug 9, 2007 2:06 am

Where I love to sit... is just a Mother Nature's gift.

It is the highest point of the hill where my home city is located. In summer I sit on the edge of the hill, right on the ground, the warm turf feeling like mother's hug. The whole bay reveals its beauty before my eyes - the animated beach, the sunny blue-green waters where ships are reposing magnificently, kite-surfs flitting merrily on the surface like one-wing butterflies, the dear funny fishermen patiently lining the bridge.

The seagulls are flying low above my head because I'm sitting between the Heaven and the Earth, it seems to me I can reach out and touch their white soft bellies.

I can sit there for hours, the brushing breeze cooling my face, and watch how the day colours change with the coming sunset. Sunsets by the sea are always amazing. Pink, yellow, orange, light blue, greerinsh-violet and purple hues begin rippling on the sea surface, only duplicating the sky's colourful impressionistic canvas.

I feel the creeping of the dusk as a pain in my heart, I don't like the moment when the sunshine is lost and replaced by grey shadowy outlines. But then the huge intensely orange-red disc of the moon slowly and solemnly emerges from the horizon above the sea, awesome in its beauty, proclaiming the start of the night life.

There were years when I wanted to move and live somewhere else, or be born in the mountains, I adore them, but the more I know the world the more I appreciate the beauty of this place.

I was born here, on August 9th, I don't mind to end my earthy way here, too.

Happy birthday to me.

I submit these photos to the Blogstock calendar with all my love to my fellow bloggers. I can scan them in larger size where needed. Click left with the cursor on these two photos to enlarge them a bit while viewing, please.

Thanks for reading.

Two Tales from My Childhood Jul 29, 2007 11:23 pm
Mood: calm, 1548 Views
Once upon a time, in a little village, there lived a man with his wife, little son and old father. As the father was so old that he was making a mess while eating, the man took him out of the house and began serving him food in a small wooden bowl to eat in the yard.
One day the villager noticed that his son was carving a piece of wood and asked him what it was.
"A bowl for you to eat from when you get old, Father", was the little boy's answer.

This is the kind of tales I've been brought up. It is a Bulgarian folk tale. Here is the second one.

Once upon a time there was a young man who had
a wife that was always displeased with him and wanted more and more. Finally she wanted the heart of her husband's mother as a present !...
The man loved his wife dearly and took his mother's heart. Hurrying to present it to his moody wife and make her happy, on his way back he tripped and fell down on the dusty road. Then he heard his mother's heart speak somewhere next to him in the dirt.
" Did you hurt yourself, my son ?"....

This is a tale my mother knew from her mother who was Greek, so this must be a Greek tale, a tale from the Balkans though. But it reminds me of Oscar Wilde's tale " The Nightingale and the Rose" because it's all about love. Have you read it ?

On Luly 26, four days ago, was one month from my mum's having the heat stroke. On this very day she gained enough strength to get up from bed by herself, only with the help of her walker and some ropes to hold on,but without my assistance. This may speak nothing to you but to me this means more freedom and less strain on my heart and thyroid nodes. And it means victory in the fight with life, and for life.

I hope I haven't bored you with my tales. But I want to tell you one more. Next time.

Thank you for reading and have a happy week !

.... your profile is being viewed or you get a wink by a blogger who hasn't visited your blog or if he has done it "invisibly", hasn't left a comment on your blog ?

Does this mean that the person in question likes your looks but doesn't like your soul ?
Because we're displaying our souls here, at least my blog is part of my soul.

How will/ do you react to this ?

Welcome to my blog, you blog wooers !!!!
If you're not looking for a soulmate, it's not worth the game !

Anybody that doesn't agree ?...

What's Happening With My Points ? Jul 24, 2007 7:15 am
1348 Views
You know these points that everybody is given by FF for the last 30 days ?

Last week my points dropped for one day with 10 figures. I thought it was a mistake, the most important thing is the talk with my friends, I told myself.

Yesterday, on Monday, I don't remember if the previous time was the beginning of the week again, just in an hour my points dropped from 68 to 60 again.

It's true that I'm not posting every day but in the rest of the week my points are dropping gradually, with no more than 2 figures per time.

I'm not a point-pursuer, yet I want to know ! Does this happen to you ? Do you have any explanation to this "mechanism" ?

A Tale from My Childhood Jul 20, 2007 12:23 am

Once upon a time there was a kingdom, and this kingdom was afflicted by a terrible drought.
The wheat crops parched and there was no bread enough for the people in the kingdom. That is why the tsar (the king) gave an order that the old people be slaughtered so that food be enough for the younger ones.
The vizir, the king's grand advisor, took pity on his father, disobeyed the king's order and hid his father in his basement.
As winter passed and spring came, it turned out that all the wheat was consumed and there were no seeds left for planting. The kingdom was threatened by famine.
The king summoned all his advisors, including the vizir, and told them that if they don't find an issue to the problem, he will cut off their heads.
The vizir went home desolate and with tears in his eyes shared his trouble with his father.
"Don't worry", said the old man. "Go and dig up
all the nests of the ants in the kingdom. There you'll find what you need."
So they did. And they found in the ants' nests enough seed supply for the new crop.
Thus the vizir saved not only his head but the whole kingdom as well.

The moments when my mum is with her wits are not many. But I treasure these moments as the seeds in the ants' nests.

This is a tale from our folklore. It would be nice if you share tales from your folklore, too, and thus exchange cultures. I'll tell you another one next time, only to find the spare time for this. But I will always find time to visit your blogs and read your posts, vital to me as life itself.

I know that it's night with you, my American friends. So I'm kissing you good night, sleep sweet and tight.
To the rest awake like me, I'm wishing you a morning bright.

I love you.
