The Mystery of the Showering Divers

I found this curious piece of news on my computer today. I thought you might find it interesting to read.
Over the last three nights, NBC has led its primetime Olympic coverage with synchronized diving. According to the stacks of letters that have poured into the Fourth-Place Medal Investigative Unit Headquarters, you've all been watching but are baffled by one facet of the competition.
After completing a dive, competitors swim to a ladder, climb out of the pool and head immediately to a bank of showers that sit adjacent to the diving boards. Then, in full view of the crowd and NBC cameras, they shower off. Divers keep their suits on, of course, usually appearing only to rinse off their hair and arms. Oftentimes, the divers will receive their scores while still showering off. What's the purpose of this?
Theories have ranged from 'to get the chlorine off' to 'they want to have fun' -- seriously, that last one is a direct quote from NBC's diving analyst, Cynthia Potter. Neither are the reason.
Divers shower in between each dive to keep their muscles warm after getting out of the pool. The temperature of the pool water and the air are usually different (the pool is usually around 80 degrees, with the air temperature between 68 and 72 degrees). This difference can cause muscle tightness. To combat this, divers warm up in either the showers or a hot tub.
Mystery: solved. (Although we're still a bit unclear as to why the showers are out in the open.The water cube cost over $200 million to build. They couldn't have put a privacy wall in?!)

No second thoughts, please !   Riny is totally devoted to Misty...
We have happy pictures the three of us, and they have happy pictures the two of them, it's only that Misty is too beautiful to be shown  ...
And it's not that I look fat on this pic, it's Riny that looks thin  ...

I and my mum were pampered by my sons during their stay, that showed to me that they have already become men, nice young men. Their big feat was to carry my mum in her wheelchair five floors down and then back five ploors up only to take her out for a walk, she hadn't been taken out for a year because of the stairs.
Sometimes we love our children more then ever...and are proud of them...

There is a Sand Sculptures Exhibition taking place for the first time in Bulgaria and in Bourgas this summer.
I forgot my camera the two times I went to see the exhibition but here is one of the pictures my younger son took. Misty and Riny can post more if they decide to.

Lol, I was only for the pic. It was my son (on the left) and his partner who made the performance in a pizza bar in Sunny Beach resort on August 9.
I couldn't persuade Riny in playing the guitar, but I and Misty danced and loved it
Misty and Riny flew back to the Netherlands on August 11, Misty's birthday...

Hi all !
As Misty and Riny told you (almost) everything about our meetings in Sozopol and Bourgas on my blog and theirs, I will only post here a pic of an alley from the sea park where we walked.
Yes, I showed Misty and Riny the beach and my sacred place on the hill overviewing the sea and Riny asked me, "Why do you allow others to trod on your place ?" Lol! "They may visit here", I answered, "but I'm the only one who sits on the edge to meditate. So it's MY place"
Aaah, I love every minute with them and I'm so glad they enjoy what they see in Bulgaria. It's a happy time to be with friends !
Misty is delightfully witty and entertaining, and Riny, I promise that I and Misty will give you the word more next time. And I hope to hear you sing and play the guitar next time we meet
To be continued...Taking Misty and Riny to Nessebar - another ancient Bulgarian town and Sunny Beach - a big seaside resort, that's 40 km north of Bourgas, on Saturday, a special day for me...
