| Action of the Alcohol on the Stomach |
May 15, 2008 3:10 am Mood: Effect of the Alcohol, 314 Views | | Action on the stomach.
The action of alcohol on the stomach is extremely dangerous that it becomes
unable to produce the natural digestive fluid in sufficient quantity and also fails to
absorb the food which it may imperfectly digest. A condition marked by the sense
of nausea emptiness, prostration and distention will always be faced by an
alcoholic. This results in a loathing for food and is teased with a craving for more
drink. Thus there is engendered a permanent disorder which is called dyspepsia.
The disastrous forms of confirmed indigestion originate by this practice.
How the liver gets affected.
The organic deteriorations caused by the continued use of alcohol are often of a
fatal character. The organ which most frequently undergoes structural changes
from alcohol is the liver. Normally, the liver has the capacity to hold active
substances in its cellular parts. In instances of poisoning by various poisonous
compounds, we analyze liver as if it were the central depot of the foreign matter.
It is practically the same in respect to alcohol. The liver of an alcoholic is never
free from the influence of alcohol and it is too often saturated with it. The minute
membranous or capsular structure of the liver gets affected, preventing proper
dialysis and free secretion. The liver becomes large due to the dilatation of its
vessels, the surcharge of fluid matter and the thickening of tissue. This follows
contraction of membrane and shrinking of the whole organ in its cellular parts.
Then the lower part of the alcoholic becomes dropsical owing to the obstruction
offered to the returning blood by the veins. The structure of the liver may be
charged with fatty cells and undergo what is technically designated 'fatty liver'.
How the Kidneys deteriorate.
The Kidneys also suffer due to the excessive consumption of alcohol. The
vessels of Kidneys lose elasticity and power of contraction. The minute structures
in them go through fatty modification. Albumin from the blood easily passes
through their membranes. This results in the body losing its power as if it were
being run out of blood gradually.
Congestion of the lungs.
Alcohol relaxes the vessels of the lungs easily as they are most exposed to the
fluctuations of heat and cold. When subjected to the effects of a rapid variation in
atmospheric temperature, they get readily congested. During severe winter
seasons, the suddenly fatal congestions of lungs easily affect an alcoholic.
Alcohol weakens the heart.
Consumption of alcohol greatly affects the heart. The quality of the membranous
structures which cover and line the heart changes and are thickened, become
cartilaginous or calcareous. Then the valves lose their suppleness and what is
termed valvular disorder becomes permanent. The structure of the coats of the
great blood-vessel leading from the heart share in the same changes of structure
so that the vessel loses its elasticity and its power to feed the heart by the recoil
from its distention, after the heart, by its stroke, has filled it with blood
Again, the muscular structure of the heart fails owing to regenerative changes in
its tissue. The elements of the muscular fiber are replaced by fatty cells or, if not
so replaced, are themselves transferred into a modified muscular texture in which
the power of contraction is greatly reduced.
Those who suffer from these o organic deteriorations of the central and governing
organ of the circulation of the blood learn the fact so insidiously; it hardly breaks
upon them until the mischief is far advanced. They are conscious of a central
failure of power from slight causes such as overexertion, trouble, broken rest or
too long abstinence from food. They feel what they call a 'sinking' but they know
that wine or some other stimulant will at once relieve the sensation. Thus they
seek to relieve it until at last they discover that the remedy fails. The jaded,
overworked, faithful heart will bear no more. It has run its course and the
governor of the blood-streams broken. The current either overflows into the
tissues gradually damming up the courses or under some slight shock or excess
of motion ceases wholly at the center.
I hope this helps you or someone you know

| A Poem |
May 15, 2008 2:41 am 272 Views | | Why follow one's own style When you can make your way and beam a smile Why take time to copy their moves When you have in yourself Something to prove.
Show to the world what you're got And then you'll see you've been created uniquely enough.
If you can't beat them, join them is what they say But why stick to this when you can be a star everyday It's not being conceited and proud. You're just making a change from the crowd.
Let's stop the day of mimicry, Let's make each day a history.
: I love this poem ever, when i was read it, i was amaze to write it down in my blog, and i do really appreciate the message trying to point it out by the author it self, i don't ever seen to be imitator or impersonating someone why because i have my own style and looks. i have my own uniqueness, that's why i am different gay, among the others. But talking about my personality, i am easy going and i love making friends and meeting them.
In terms about my created fashion, i have desire to design my own, to prove to someone who really who i am and what capability i have..
And i can shout it to the whole world, that i have my own originality and i can prove it..hehehe
Being a nursing student, i have my own compassion and desire to do my task everyday and even in school, i have my knowledge to write it down, what inside of my feelings, what i am trying to stress out. i love the way i am, and i love who i am. |

| Boyfriend VS Boy Friend |
May 15, 2008 2:34 am Mood: Boyfriend vs Boy friend, 256 Views | | If you think he likes you, think twice my dear! We the gays sometimes find it difficult to make a distinction if the guy is really into us or just wants to be our friend. Remember that there is a fine line between 'just-friends' and would-be-boyfriend.'
For me to clear my point, let me share to you a short story. A gay friend of mine named JOJO, met a guy in school on the 1st day of class. They had an ordinary getting to know stage because it was through texting that they get to keep in touch. They are enrolled in different courses so they seldom see each other. They become friends... and eventually more than friends?! Yes, that's exactly the problem. JOJO does not know where she stands in his life. Could he say he likes his friend because he says's Love you' to him? Or will it be too assuming on his part? Well, I hate to keep you hanging, but up to now, JOJO is still on dilemma.
I came across an article at psychology today.com and it says that our cerebral hemispheres are divided into two. The left hemisphere is responsible for logic and language and the right one for emotions and art. These two parts are joined by the corpus callosum. It was discovered that females have shorter carpus callosum making their emotional aspect more coordinated with their words and logic. Males who have a gap in their corpus callosum compared to the later have made their actions not well coordinated with their emotions. So here is the catch, gays, what you are thinking might be really different from what he is thinking! If you feel like you are special, do not get carried away. There is a great chance that what you consider being special might for him be 'just normal'.
before we find ourselves caught in the most embarrassing moment of assuming the guys intention to be beyond the limits of making friends, hang on a minute. Check my friendly guidelines of decoding the difference between boyfriend and boy friend.
THE TEXT One message received.its from him...um?...
Just Friends: Very normal for boys to text their girl friends or gay friends now and then. Take note, it's only now and then. Meaning, they are just looking for someone to talk to at that moment and not much else. Oftentimes, it's just a simple "hi", "hello" or "hows your day" text message.
More than that: texting makes the guy's work of knowing girls and gays easy. You will know if he's into you when there is an increasing frequency of texting and even calling. He texts you for the whole day and checks out what are you busy of. Believe me, a guy who is hooked up into girls or gays could not leave a day without communicating to them.
THE DATE You and him together in mall.Well, well, well...
Just friends: When he has pure intentions of friendship, you will always end up having a group date with your other friends. you will be spending the day on arcades or window shopping on the mall. You will not have a one-on-one talk because he will be busy talking with your other friends. Asking you out doesn't always mean he wants to be with you. It may also mean, he just wants to kill his time.
More than that: This involves formally asking you out. Movie dates usually makes a perfect choices since you don't have to talk too much. Dinner follows and he will bring you home. He would then ask for next time. This time you could suspect his intentions to be more than just friends!
THE GIFT You may want to jump for joy after receiving a gift from him. But don't overreact.
Just friends keep in mind the principle of exclusivity. He does not give gifts to any other friends except you. If he gives gift to all his gayfriends, then he is just a pal. The worst thing that could happen is if he gives you a gift just the same with what he gave to his other gay friends.
More than that: boys are generally bad in giving gifts. So every gift wrapped is an extra effort. If he gives you a gift that has something to do with only the two of you share, then rejoice! Most especially when he gives you flowers. Flowers are only given to gays when the guy is really serious.
THE 'I LOVE YOU' I love you, take care...muwaah!!!
Just friends: Again, take note of the principle of exclusivity. If it seems so ordinary for him to say the magic words to all his friends, especially to gays, then don't wish that you are extra special. he might just be expressive towards the people he loves.
More than that: These words are very crucial. If a guy tells you this right in front of you, then it's different. Sincerity can be seen on the eyes. Try to look at him, and you will know!.
There you have it now! Take note of the signs and use your intuitions. Be careful because it hurts to know the truth when you are expecting a different thing. Remember that friend and boyfriend only differ in three letters, but it could mAKE A DIFFERENCE in your WORLD. |
