Overheard at the nurse's station...

old nurse : what are you giggling about?

young nurse : hi hi hi...i just gave the man in room 112 a sponge bath, and tatooed on his "thing " was NICODEMUS in bold letters...hi hi hi...

the following day, it was the old nurse who gave a sponge bath to the same patient.

young nurse : well?, did you see the tatoo?

old nurse : you always exaggerate. all I saw was NS.

The worst maritime disaster in the world on record i believe is still the 'TITANIC', where a little over 1200 people perished. In December of 1987, the Philippines had its worst. The Dona Paz tragedy. The official count was 800 as per the passenger manifest. The few people who survived will tell you there were over 4500 people on that ship when it sank. Actual accounts said that the boat was so full, people occupied all the spaces possible. If you want to sleep. you have to sleep sitting down. Women, children, the old and able bodied men lost their lives in that tragedy. My mother and two of my brothers included. We never saw their bodies.

An investigation was instituted and established the fault was with the unscrupulous owners of the ship in connivance with the coast guards. There were public indignation left and right, But after all the hype died, so did the controversy. To this day, nobody was made to "pay" for this deed.

Do you think we've all learned from this experience? not a chance. five more disasters followed after this.

When will we ever learn.

You decided to go to a fancy restaurant. The ambience is great, everything seems perfect. You are escorted to your table, with a view no less, and the waiter hands you the menu.

You gave it a once over, and then a second, and when you are convinced what entree you want, you made your order.

At last, here it comes. It is placed gently on your table. Your eyes popped with excitement,like a kid getting his first bike. It Looks gorgeous, smells good too. Just as you were about to take your first mouthful, you glanced at the other table. oh, it looks more gorgeous, and seem to smell better, amd even looks tastier.

your excitement over your food leaves you. now you want what the fellow at the other table is having.

Its happened to me a long time ago, now its happening again. what would you do?
