| It Can't Be Thursday ALREADY? Argggggh!! |
Aug 4, 2005 7:17 am Mood: sleepy, 1538 Views | | Geez the weeks are just flying by here. It's already Thursday. Wish I could say I've gotten a lot done this week but I'd be lying.
Hmmmm, more training this morning until about 2:00 then probably back home for some relaxation before working again.
It's been hot but not abnormal or unbearable. Hmmm, still no woman in the closet. Darn lever doesn't work. LMAO |

| Mmmmm urge to blog, RISING :)) |
Aug 3, 2005 11:11 am Mood: energetic, 1575 Views | | Woohoo, midweek already. Didn't have to get up early today or work until later. Have already posted on my favorite groups and wasted the first half of the day doing as little as possible. Sloth is afterall my sin of choice followed by lust. LMAO Ooops, I didn't say that really.
Hmmm, not too much really going on today. Had a lot of fun last night on my OF group chit chatting with Emmy, Eli and Cindela.
Two weeks from today, school starts back up. I've got to still buy some clothes for this year, but that will wait until payday.
Hmmm I keep waiting for something exciting or good to happen but so far nothing real special or newsworthy. It's amazing how much difference a year makes. A year ago today I got hired at my school district. I was sooooo happy. Now I'm back for my second year.
It feels great to be done with school. No classes, papers to write or chapters to read. Woohoo.
I feel like making out for about an hour right NOW!! LOL!! Hmmmm I just checked the closet though and no good looking girl in there to make out with so I'll have to hold that thought. LOL!
Volunteers? Please report to Omaha Nebraska ASAP |

| Morning Musings on a Tuesday in August. :) |
Aug 2, 2005 7:11 am Mood: adventurous, 1476 Views | | Hmmm, back to doing something today after being ill for 3 days. You know it's actually boring not being able to do anything except JUST go online.
I never thought I'd say that but I've been pretty much sitting around since I got sick on Friday night. Oh I went on some short trips to stores and such and yesterday I took my son to the doctor. But for the most part I sat on my bottom here at home and flirted with people online. Never thought I'd ever get tired of that but I've got an important training session that I need to attend today for my other job starting at 10:00 AM.
Actually I'm feeling fairly good today although if anyone reading this wants to send me money I won't complain. LMAO |

| Hmmmmm August Already. Sighhhhhhh!!! |
Aug 1, 2005 9:18 am Mood: contemplative, 1581 Views | | Hmmm, August always brings mixed feelings. The good is that the Summer is winding down and my favorite season, the Fall is fast approaching. With Fall comes football which I love to watch. The past few years around here have been somewhat depressing however for Husker football because the current University administration has split the state and angered many people by abandoning nearly every tradition that had stood for over 40 years in a program long recognized as one of the most successful in the country. Last year for the first time since 1961, the team had a losing record.
The good thing about the Fall around here is that the weather is pleasant and generally a lot cooler after September 15th. Nebraska has beautiful Falls, so regardless of how the football team does it's at least hopefully going to be pleasant weather wise.
August also signifies a return to school and work for me. Years ago when I first began teaching schools started the week before Labor Day. Most start at least one and some almost 2-3 weeks before Labor Day now days so that they can end their semesters at Christmas Break instead of in January. My school district is one of the few where the Semester ends in mid January making it possible to start the kids about the 3rd week in August and the teachers a week before that. That is good as far as I'm concerned as I hate cutting out more of my Summer free time.
Well not much is going on, except as usual it would be nice to have more money. LMA ) |

| Bored Today on Sunday. |
Jul 31, 2005 8:35 pm Mood: bored, 1590 Views | | Grrrrrr, I'm kind of bored today. It's Sunday July 31st. I've been sick since Friday night so I can't really go too many places or do too much.
I've spent most of today either online here and other sites or watching Pirates of the Caribbean with my son. That was pretty good, but a little silly and unrealistic too. Still it was pretty good entertainment.
Hmmm I'll probably go back to work on Tuesday as I have an important training session on Tuesday and Thursday. |

| The Wheat Boy :) |
Jul 30, 2005 6:57 am 1580 Views | | I have always loved cats. I have owned 4 different cats since I was a child. The first one was named Puff (original I know). He was hit and killed by a car when I was only 5.
Next we bought a Calico cat named Scamper. She lived for 15 years until I was in college. My parents decided to get a dog next so when I got married we went to the animal shelter one day and rescued an orange Tabby that we named Simon. He also lived about 15 years.
We decided to get our current cat named Wheatie. Ever since the days of the old James Bond movies I always thought that Persian cats were the absolute coolest, so Wheatie is a Silver Persian. He came from Oklahoma. Originally the plan was to breed him, but he's got imperfections so we never did breed him and most likely never will.
I love the Wheat Boy but he can be a huge pain sometimes too. He's pretty small for a Silver Persian. He is over 10 years old now, but he looks like a younger cat. He misses me when I'm away and has an unusual whine that shows he's upset. |

| Where the heck did July go? |
Jul 28, 2005 10:09 am Mood: restless, 1698 Views | You know it just seems like the days and nights are flying by. I sometimes feel panicky because I don't want my life to fly by so fast and yet it seems like it's a blink of an eye between years now days.
This has been a really enjoyable Summer, however, I will say that. Meanwhile all my other things seemed mired in eternal delay Grrrrrrr!!!!
I would so like to start dating, partying and enjoying some privacy again before I'm too old to be able to.
Going to Yellowstone awakened some feelings of sadness in me as well as some memories. The last time I went there my son was one. Now he's 21, yet it seems like it couldn't have been 20 years since I was there.
I don't know how I really feel anymore or exactly what I want. I sometimes feel like I just need time to be alone and to experience being alone so it will better clarify what I really want to happen. When I say "alone" I really mean in my own house or apartment where I'm free to do what I want, talk to whom I want, and go out and stay out with whomever I want to for however long I want to.
My son will be heading back to college in a couple weeks. Seeing him almost done with college also gives me an eery almost surreal feeling.
Some of my dearest friends are closer to his age than they are to mine. Funny thing is I feel like a 25 year old in my heart and mind, yet my body sometimes reminds me otherwise.

| Vacation, Wheeeeee and Whoooooo :) |
Jul 27, 2005 12:11 pm Mood: contemplative, 1702 Views | Wow I hadn't been on a full fledged vacation trip since about 2002, so my son and I decided to do some male bonding and head for Yellowstone Park and the Grand Tetons for five days.
We left on Wednesday July 20th, spent all of Friday knocking around Yellowstone and most of Saturday knocking aroud the Jackson Lake area.
We didn't see any bears, but we did see elk, deer, bison, ground squirrels and unusual birds. We camped out all five nights which was an experience too.
About the only thing missing was any female company. I'm sorry I've got a one track mind.
My son Heath loved the trip and he hadn't been there since he was one. When you go on trips like that you feel kind of drained and let down when you get home.
The awesome power and splendor of nature is what impressed me most about the trip. We saw geysers, beautiful waterfalls, canyons, bubbling mountain brooks, pristine lakes and of course thick woods and forests as well as snow covered mountain peaks.
I was disappointed at the amount of destruction still evident from the 1988 forest fires that raged out of control there. Seventeen years later the burnt areas are still not recovered nor will they be in my lifetime.
The roads and maintenance of the park seemed to be considerably worse than it was back in 1985. There were also no signs warning us that a major entrance to the park was closed, which caused us almost a 100 mile extra detour and took an extra hour to get us into the park. That is the fault of the Montana State Roads Dept.

| Hmmmm, I guess I will try this. :) |
Jul 26, 2005 11:10 am Mood: content, 1733 Views | | Okay, I'm going to try this. I've done this on a different site but it's more private or can be set for only friends to view.
My name is Bruce. I live in Omaha, Nebraska. I don't feel like telling a LOT about myself on a FF blog, but I will say I'm a teacher.
I have a son who is a college student who is presently the most important person in my life. We just took a 5 day vacation to Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons. We camped in a tent and had a blast together.
I love FF and have many friends on here, most of them lovely ladies. My view is that there are a lot of lonely people out there and I don't think some of them are having much success meeting or developing good lasting relationships with members of the opposite gender.
I feel like the men are mostly looking for women for action and the women are looking for a decent guy that might develop into a loving relationship. This is one reason why I have found the discussion boards to be so great.
I started in February of 2004 and became sort of the ruler and most prolific poster on the television/movies discussion group. In late December, FF began allowing people to make their own groups so I started the Omaha Friends group. Soon all of my friends from television movies had joined my group and since I'm the moderator I've been able to keep out troublemakers or weird people so the group is safe and fun.
I also have a Silver Persian cat who thinks he runs the house, named Wheatie. Well, that's it for now, I don't want to make this War and Peace or something. LOL!! |
