Mood: annoyed, 1140 Views |  | Hmmmm, I am working my hours early this week because I've got a road trip planned to see my son this weekend.
The burning question is whether I'll be able to AFFORD to go see him. Gasoline went up 60 cents in one day today in part of the Big O.
Someone ought to go to jail for this. Ordinary people are not going to be able to afford to even go anywhere if this crap continues.
I managed to get gas this afternoon at $2.95 per gallon, but yesterday gas was at $2.60. I just heard today in some parts of the country people are being gouged for as much as $5.00/gallon.
I think that this is all a huge scam to rip off Americans and make millions for the oil companies. I'm beginning to wonder if by the time I leave Friday afternoon whether it will cost me more than my monthly car payment just to go out there. |

Mood: relieved, 1016 Views |  | Despite the tragedy in Louisiana and Mississippi, I found out tonight that there was some good news. My brother in law's ex wife and her husband live in Gulfport, Mississippi. They for whatever reason decided not to leave and when the hurricane hit it was terrifying and they called her son on the cellphone in a panic, saying they were inside of a carport and didn't know what to do.
After the call the son didn't hear from them again and the family was very worried that they might have been killed by a twenty two foot high tidal surge swept over the area. I found out tonight however that they did not get killed. After they got off the phone they realized that staying in that carport would be deadly. They ran through the wind and the rain looking for a house still standing that might offer safe haven.
They finally came to one still standing and they had to break into it. They climbed up into the attic and the water soon came and did flood into the house, but the house held and did not wash away. The water also did not get up that high to reach them and they survived. Once the water receded the walked to the house of a friend and telephoned people to tell them they were alive but shaken up.
Fortunately I've never faced this kind of thing before and I hope I never do. It's my understanding that the entire city of New Orleans is mostly destroyed. Some estimates are that it will take two full months to restore electricity and that they may have to evacuate the city of over 2 million people to heaven only knows where? |

Mood: sleepy, 1189 Views |  | Hmmm, if I'm going to go on a trip this coming weekend like I think I'm going to, it puts me under pressure to work longer at my other job in the first 4 days of the week. This is NOT fun as I have to average close to 4 hours per day over 4 days if I'm to leave on Friday right after school.
The good news is that I am off Monday so my work gives us an hours break and we don't have to work 3 hours next week that we would normally have to. So if I can be with 3-4 hours of 17 by Thursday night, I can make it up next week without too much trouble. I got 3.7 in tonight. Still it's a little rough going directly from one job to another without a break. |

Mood: relaxed, 1118 Views |  | Wow this weekend just flew by. Where did it go? Just wanted to come on here and write a short blog before heading off to bed.
I worked almost 5 hours tonight so I don't feel like I had much time today to do a whole lot. Next week the football season starts around here and that is a big thing here in Nebraska.
I might actually be on the road this weekend as my son wants me to come visit him at his university where he goes to school.
The good thing is that I could use the extra day of Labor Day to get back home and would not have to come back on Sunday.
Well ta-ta for now to all my fans as I head off to meet Mr. Sandman.  |

Mood: amused, 1142 Views |  | I have to laugh because my son's friends want to hang out with me. He left to go back to college a couple weeks ago, but two of his best friends like to come over and hang out with me on either Friday or Saturday night.
I guess I must just be a fun guy to hang out with. LOL! Well it's about 1:00 AM on Sunday morning for me, but for FF which is in Pacific time, it'll be a Saturday night blog.
Hmmm, I'm feeling desperate for someone to kiss. Oops, checked my closet and drat it all, still no one in there. Where is Cameron when you really need her?
Hmmmm, the weekend has gone by fast, but I managed to make it to a party yesterday. Next week the high school football season begins and also next weekend is Labor Day weekend so I'll get an extra day off which will be nice although I don't usually do too much anymore on Labor Day. |

Mood: tired, 1299 Views |  | Hmmm long day today. I worked all day, then worked at my other job 3 hours then went to a get together with colleagues. After that I went to see my friend at the bar she works at.
Altogether I had 4 beverages and I feel really more tired than anything else.  LOL!
I might add that nothing happened tonight either. LMAO!! Not that any women reading this were INTERESTED. LMAO! |

Mood: tired, 1130 Views |  | Hmmm, just got home from what turned out to be a long but good day. First it was the first real day of school with all of the students there. I got to meet my Seniors for the first time. I must say that I already like what I saw today and I think this is going to be a good year.
After I got off at about 3:15 PM, I headed across town to my other job. I was only intending to work about 3 hours but ended up staying 4.4 hours.
Tomorrow night I'm going (by myself of course) to a beginning of the year party at the home of one of my colleagues. I also have to work some hours at my other job too. I'm probably going to go out for a drink after the party.
This is my favorite time of the year, really as the weather gets nice and cools off and football season starts. I wish sometimes that I had someone who enjoyed going with me to social gatherings and then going out with me afterwards but for now I'll just have to wait.  |

Mood: excited, 1275 Views |  | Hmmm, well I guess since some people like to read what I write, I'll keep on doing it. First day of school with the students today. It was very easy as the classes were only 10 minutes long and the rest of the stuff was orientation, building tours, assemblies and rallies and the like.
Hmmm, I wore one of my new outfits that I purchased on Sunday, beige pair of pants and burgundy colored polo style shirt. I looked pretty spiffy actually and got a compliment from a colleague.
Not much else to say except that everyone is back tomorrow so I'll have a full day. |

Mood: good, 1326 Views |  | Well in-service is all finished today and tomorrow the kids arrive. Tomorrow are only Freshmen however so it should be a fairly easy day.
Does anyone else ever get annoyed at already being broke, only one week after pay day?
I would like to know where all my money goes because even though I work two jobs it seems like I never have any extra.
Hmmmmm, I worked another fairly long day again, going to my other job after I got off my main job. It's nice to get home and have a couple hours to relax before going to bed. Wish I had someone to relax WITH!! |

Mood: relaxed, 1415 Views |  | Hmmm it was back to work early this morning. Then after I got off work I went to my other job and worked 3.3 hours there.
I just arrived home around 8:00 PM to relax a little bit and of course come here to make a new blog.
One more in-service day and then the students come back on Wednesday and Thursday. I went out to eat with three ladies today from work. We had Chinese food. I had Moo goo gai pan, which is basically white chicken breast in a white sauce and carrots, cabbage and broccoli. It was pretty good although not the best in town.
Unfortunately I didn't get to the university to go on FF or post a blog until now. |
