Wow, another Friday. Oct 14, 2005 9:58 pm
Mood: tired, 1350 Views
Hmmm, after work tonight I went out briefly and had a libation and a couple mini-tacos. They were yummy. Then I worked 3.5 hours at my other job and then I went to see my friend Rhonda at the bar where she works.

They were busy but I had a couple more libations before heading home around 10:30 PM.

All in all it was a decent week, certainly much calmer than last week. Other than losing my car key yesterday things went fairly well.

Tomorrow I have to work and Sunday I have to work. Tomorrow night Nebraska plays Baylor in Waco. Normally this would be a gimme game, but Baylor is 4-1 this year so they are much better than they have been in the past.

Hmmmm, a mixed week. Oct 13, 2005 8:05 pm
Mood: aggravated, 1204 Views
Well up until about 3:30 PM today, things had been going fairly well this week and then I was walking out to my car and could not find my car key. I searched everywhere for the next hour with no luck. No one had turned it into lost and found either. Finally I had to call and have my spare brought to me which took another 40 minutes or so. By the time I finally got to my other job, it was 5:30.

I went and visited with a counselor yesterday about some of the things happening in my life right now. Although I was already a lot calmer than I was last week when I made this appointment I still think it was good to express my feelings and some of my doubts about things happening, to someone who is not directly involved.

She said I could come back if I wished to. More importantly she made me feel better because she told me some things to make me feel better about myself.

Well, I'm feeling a heckuva lot better than last week. Oct 11, 2005 9:17 pm
Mood: relieved, 1143 Views
Well I won't say I'm feeling fabulous, but at least I'm doing better than I was about a week ago and I think my friends are too.

Unfortunately I have a new family crisis going on now and this one involves one of my siblings who is going through some rough times.

I don't want to say too much, but I will say that it puts last week's stuff in a little better perspective as this is a matter of life and death. Fortunately, it appears that life is going to win out this time, but it could have been a close call either way.

Late Night Reflections on Another Yankee Meltdown. Oct 10, 2005 9:41 pm
Mood: annoyed, 1309 Views
Alex Rodriguez MUST be the most OVERPAID baseball player in the entire world. Not only did he stink the entire series, he made key errors and in tonight's game with a man on and nobody out in the top of the 9th, grounded into a double play.

As usual the Yankees for the second year in a row and for the third year in the last 4, the Yankees have lost without even getting to the World Series.

They're not QUITE as pathetic as my other favorite baseball team, the Braves who make it every year to the playoffs and ALWAYS lose, except in the one year that they managed to beat the Indians in 1995.

Ah well, this week has not been the greatest for my teams in sports that I root for, but I guess sports are not the most important thing to worry about.

A Cool, Crisp Sunday. Oct 9, 2005 10:44 am
Mood: contemplative, 1179 Views
Wow, Fall just sort of started all of a sudden around here. It's about 60 degrees today, a far cry from the high 80's it was less than 10 days ago. It is pretty hard to get accustomed to going from airconditioning to heating in 72 hours time, but that's what it's like in these parts.

This has been a pretty tumultuous week for me and some of my dearest friends. I think things are starting to settle down a little bit, but it will take time.

I have to work a little over 4 hours today, but am planning on watching some football and some baseball if I can squeeze it in.

Saturday Means Trying to Enjoy Myself. Oct 8, 2005 7:21 am
Mood: calm, 1197 Views
Well, usually Saturday and Friday night are about my only really enjoyable night. I do have to work today, but only about 3-4 hours.

Nebraska has a huge home game versus Texas Tech. Last year Texas Tech embarrassed us by scoring 70 points on us in Lubbock so everyone wonders if we'll step up and slap them down this year in revenge or if they'll take us apart again?

Last night I managed to go to one of my favorite Friday night hangouts and enjoy a couple "libations". I got home after stopping at Taco Bell for a couple of Chilupas. Then I watched the Yankees lose to the Angels for the second time in a row, this time at home.

I'm thinking about going down to the art museum to check out the new Picasso exhibit as well, since I just purchased a museum membership yesterday.

Well another weekend arrives. Oct 7, 2005 1:50 pm
Mood: melancholy, 1350 Views
Hmmmm, well I finally made it to the weekend. I'm going to try and remain active and do things to keep my mind off of the difficulties of this week.

I've also got to work at my other job. I hope that those people who are my friends have a good weekend.

Today I bought a membership to the local art museum at a really good price. A Picasso exhibit just opened on October 1st, so I'm looking forward to going to the art museum whenever I want for the next year.

Well, I'm having a rough week, but it helps a lot to talk to people you love and trust. I don't know what the future is of my presence on ff.

My group may or may not survive recent turmoil. One of my friends has apparently started a new group where people can go and keep on talking.

I understand that if people feel that way, then that is a good alternative for them. If people lose interest in my group I will just come less often to see who's chit chatting.

If people want to keep coming to my group then I'm going to keep it a happy, uplifting group where people cannot say unpleasant things.

People need to get their unpleasantness somewhere else. Thank you to everyone who has been understanding and supportive of me.

No one knows how long we'll be here on this earth and I firmly believe that the amount of unhappiness, anger and upset we experience shaves a little bit off of that time.

I think that the most important thing is to keep things in perspective and remember that really most of us have a really great life when compared to people in some places who fear daily for their lives or have no money or even a place to live.

There is a man who used to work where I work who just went through a double lung transplant. When compared to him, my problems seem miniscule by comparison.

We cannot always control the things that happen, but we CAN control how we let those things affect us.

Just Going to Say This Once. Oct 5, 2005 7:10 pm
Mood: disappointed, 1529 Views
I am just a human being who has been going through some difficult things lately. Some people who claimed they were my friend are really apparently NOT my friend.

As far as I'm concerned if they want to judge me and find me to be a worthless creep, when they don't know what's happening in my life, then they were not really MY friends in the first place.

Anyone who hates me, should feel free to cancel me off their friends list, since obviously I'm not worthy to remain on them any longer. I'm sure they're ALL perfect themselves and have never done anything wrong or hurt anyone else.

That's all I'm going to say. I have plenty of my own pain to deal with and don't need any fairweather friends who turn on me when things go wrong.

I don't have students tomorrow, only what is called in-service which are basically boring teacher meetings.

I almost feel like I have to write something now days to satisfy my avid reading audience. LMAO
