Topping Yesterday will be tough. :) Nov 3, 2005 7:22 pm
Mood: excited, 1057 Views
Well after my kissing thread from yesterday it will be hard to post anything quite so interesting. Hmmmm tomorrow is Friday, woohooo!!!

I have a busy day planned tomorrow as I get most of my social activity in on Friday evenings now days.

I want to go listen to Jonathon Kozol speak here in Omaha at 6:30 PM. Then after that I'll probably work some before maybe going out after work to my favorite gathering spot. Not sure if my friends plan to go there or not but we did have a really nice time last week so maybe they will.

Then on Saturday the Nebraska-Kansas game will be in mid afternoon and won't be televised. About the only streak that Nebraska has left now is the 37 year long winning streak against Kansas and that could end this year as it's in Lawrence and Kansas is decent this year.

I haven't even thought ahead to Sunday yet. Next week is parent-teacher conferences and then in a couple weeks after that is Thanksgiving already.

Mood: silly, 1376 Views
LOL! I'll bet THAT got your attention. Okay be honest, and answer the questions to the best of your ability:

a) Who did you last kiss?
b) Who did you first kiss?
c) Where do you most like to be kissed? (keep it clean)
d) Have you ever kissed two people on the same night?
e) How old were you when you did your first kiss other than a relative?
f) Have you ever kissed a person of the same gender as yourself?
g) Do you close your eyes or keep them open when you kiss?
h) What celebrity would you most LIKE to kiss?
i) Do you have a secret crush on someone you'd LIKE to kiss but haven't yet?
j) Where were you when you had your first kiss?

Hmmm Jonathon Kozol is Coming to Omaha. Nov 1, 2005 6:34 pm
Mood: excited, 994 Views
Wow one of my favorite writers is visiting Omaha this week. Jonathon Kozol has written about the horrors facing poor people in public school districts across America.

His gripping and graphic accounts of conditions in cities like Newark, South Chicago, East St. Louis and the Bronx have touched my heart. Unlike some writers Kozol doesn't point fingers at any particular individuals, he merely exposes the horrors and injustices of the current system and what it is doing to the children and the families who must endure it.

I am hoping to go hear him talk on Friday evening when he is here. If I can I might take one of his books and see if I can get him to autograph it.

Trick or Treat? :) Oct 31, 2005 7:34 pm
Mood: tired, 906 Views
Okay it's Halloween. Are you skeered? Be afraid, be VERY afraid. LOL! Hmmmmm, I worked at both of my jobs and didn't get home until just after 8:00 PM so I missed most of the little goblins but there were some and we did run out of candy.

I'm kinda tired, but not really exhausted or anything just kinda tired. I took a nice long shower and washed my hair when I got home. I also ate a dinner of spare ribs and rice, topped off with a piece of apple pie.

Unfortunately, I ate the last piece of my Turtle cheesecake yesterday. Waaaaaaaaa!!

Well this week is a full week of school, but next week we really only have three days M-W because Thursday is parent-teacher conference day and Friday we get half the day off to make up for staying late on Thursday night.

Wooo, what a weekend. :) Oct 30, 2005 12:54 pm
Mood: relaxed, 969 Views
Wow, I've really had an active and enjoyable weekend. Today (Sunday) I got up after a long good nights sleep aided by leaving Daylight Savings Time, at about 9:00 AM. Then we decided to go to the Omaha Botannical Garden which is way on the other side of town.

After that we went over the Joslyn Art Museum and had lunch. It was a lot of fun and I don't usually do anything on Sundays so it made it a special treat.

It's beautiful outside today here too, about 70 degrees and sunny. I just got home around 2:00 PM and came and checked into FF to see if anyone was around.

Tomorrow is Halloween. That is unbelievable how fast the year is going so far. Tomorrow is also the beginning of the 2nd Quarter of the year already at school.

I am so glad to be done with my graduate work. And yet I don't feel that I've got lots more money or time than I had the past three years.

We get very few trick or treaters anymore on Halloween because our house is on a cul de sac. I'll probably work a few hours tomorrow night and then come home and relax.

Woohooo, Super Busy Saturday. :) Oct 29, 2005 8:43 am
Mood: excited, 1065 Views
Well last night was fun, and now today comes some more fun. First of all, in about 15 minutes here I'm going to watch Nebraska vs Oklahoma. This year it's in Lincoln and it's on television. Oklahoma is a little down this year so Nebraska has a real chance against them.

Then, I have to go into work for a few hours, then tonight I'm going to my school's play at 7:00 PM.

After that some guests are coming over for a get together. I love weekends.

Wooo hooo, fast, frantic, friday. :) Oct 28, 2005 11:01 pm

Wow I left this morning about 6:40AM and just walked through my door about 12:40 AM on early Saturday morning. What have I been doing all of this time? Hehehehehe, wouldn't YOU like to know? LOL!

Actually I worked until about 3:15, then I went to my bank to make a deposit, then I stopped a local hangout and no one was there except for me. Then I headed to my other job and worked until just after 8:00 PM there. Then I went to another hangout to see my friend Rhonda and that's where the fun really began.

Two of my colleagues from my other job arrived about 9:30 and we played two games of 3 person darts. We played a version of darts called Cricket. Basically in Cricket only 15 and above count and each player must hit each number between 15 and bullseye three times. I won the first game and my friend Rhett won the second game.

Then we decided to do a little karaoke and my other friend Lisa and I sang, "I Got You Babe" by Sonny and Cher. At the end of the night I got up and sang a solo, "The Gambler", by Kenny Rodgers.

I had fun and now I'm at home telling all of you my audience about it. My friend Rhonda told me she thought I sounded really good. That made me feel good too.

I'm back did anyone miss me? :) Oct 27, 2005 8:28 pm
Mood: adventurous, 1113 Views
Hmmmmm, watched the last game of the World Series last night and the White Sox of course swept the Astros in 4 games and won 1-0. The game ended near 11:00 PM and I was tired from the night before, so instead of coming online afterwards I merely headed for bed.

So did everyone miss me? Miss me, miss me, now you've gotta kiss me. LOL! Not really, although you COULD try if you're female.

Hmmm, already another weekend is coming up. I'm pretty excited as I'm going to the school's play on Saturday night. It's called, "The REAL Inspector Hound". I think it's a comical mystery but I'm not sure.

Well that's all for now, but I'll be back, you can count on it. Oooo, I got a yummy turtle cheesecake yesterday from a girl at school selling them for a fundraiser. I swear I could eat the entire thing myself it is sooooo good.

Hmmmmm, What's Up World? :) Oct 25, 2005 7:13 pm
Mood: relaxed, 941 Views
With me not a whole lot. I worked then worked at my other job, then came home and watched a couple innings of Game 3 of the World Series.

It's kind of chilly here in the big O the last couple days. Although it's jacket weather, I really love it. I've been able to wear sweaters the last week or so to work.

This coming weekend is going to be relaxing most likely, as I've got a lighter work schedule at my second job. Nebraska plays Oklahoma on Saturday at about 11:00 AM, then I'm going to my school's Fall play at 7:00 PM.

I've been trying to talk some people at my second job into going out Friday night for a karaoke party but I'm not sure if anyone wants to or not.

Happy About Some things, Grrring about Some Things. :) Oct 24, 2005 7:59 pm
Mood: annoyed, 1079 Views
Hmmmmm, kind of an odd feeling today. On the personal emotional level, I'm feeling better about things. I had a pretty good day at school and also at work.

I'm certainly "well fed" as I had both Godfather's Pizza AND Arbys. I'm home merely relaxing in front of my computer.

Now for the GRRRRRRRR. Okay, I'm a career professional and at school the Principal did something that really annoyed me. She did not make it known that next year a major change in philosophy was going to be implemented. Instead one of our curriculum specialists announced it to the entire math and science departments that it was going to happen. Then my curriculum specialist denied that it was decided, but yesterday after a meeting which had all the feeling of a kangaroo court, they announced that indeed the rumor started by the curriculum specialist was correct as stated and that this new philosophy IS being implemented next year.

I feel like we're being treated like bush league amateurs. If they wish to make a major change in the philosophy of the school they should just say they're going to do it, ask for feedback and then go with it. Don't lie or allow rumors to start. It is sooooo tacky when the students hear about something before all of the teachers do about what's going on.

Okay, time to smile again, ranting is over.
