Hmmm I managed to work almost 8 hours the past two days despite having a cold and I haven't lost my voice yet (knock on wood).

I took some Sudafed tonight so hopefully I won't have major drainage and problems tonight. Tomorrow I'm planning to show a film so I shouldn't need to talk too much either. Last full week of school before Thanksgiving week.

My plans have changed. I'm not going out of town for Thanksgiving as I originally thought I would. We are going to go over Christmas break instead for several reasons. One is that Christmas Break is much longer. Another is that my mom's cousin just passed away and there is a memorial service on the Friday after Thanksgiving so she can no longer go with us and still attend that.

Usually about once a year I get a cold and usually if I do, I lose my voice which I hate. Well the past couple years it's happened in after the start of the year. Last year it was in February and the year before that it was in April or May. Sometimes however, it happens in the Fall and that's when it's hitting me this year.

So far I've made it without losing my voice so if I can hang on I might be okay. It's in my sinuses and my nose right now. It's also really annoying if it turns into a cough because that nagging cough doesn't go away sometimes for 6 weeks.

As far as today is concerned it went okay. I got in about 3.5 hours of work and also listened to Nebraska (barely) win their football game, 27-24. Had some friends over tonight but knocked off entertaining about 10:30 due to not really feeling that great with my cold and all.

Watched some of the Wizard of Oz on TBS tonight too.

Mmmmm, just got home from my favorite watering hole where my friend works. The place was jammed tonight and I ended up staying until about 12:15 AM.

I sang karaoke three times too although my two friends were both not feeling well tonight so I was by myself.

I got quite a few compliments although I've got the slight cold right now which I hope doesn't get worse because of smoke that was in the place.

I just took a decongestant to preven me from having nasal drainage during the night that might cause laryngitis.

I sang two songs alone and one duet with a friend of mine named Michelle. I think I have figured out that I love to get attention from other people.

I think it's a lot worse than it used to be .

Well it's kinda late here but I got home not too long ago. Today was long but fine. I did testing in the AM until around 11:00 and then went to lunch for an hour before coming back for conferences all the way until 7:30 PM. After that a huge bunch of us went to Buffalo Wild Wings to unwind.

It was kind of fun and I had boneless wings which were spicy and good. I feel like I'm coming down with a cold though and I don't want to lose my voice so I'm trying not to go to sleep without taking a decongestant.

Tomorrow is only a half day of work in the morning and then I've got to go run some errands and then I have to catch up on my work at my other job because I didn't make it in there tonight.

Well it's only Wednesday night, but I'm already getting revved up for the weekend because tomorrow is only a half day of testing followed by conferences. Then on Friday we only go in until about noon and then we're off for the rest of the day.

Last two Fridays have been fun with karaoke and dart playing. I'm not sure about my friend Lisa though because she's been sick all week, so maybe she won't feel up to doing anything Friday this week.

Well that's about it for tonight. I'm going to go take a shower and get ready for bed pretty quick here.

LOL! You know on another site a few months back I took the 7 deadly sins choice and I scored highest on sloth. LMAO!!

I think that's probably true as I'm feeling a tad slothful tonight. Maybe I'm just getting tired of working 60-65 hours per week.

I kinda feel like a giant gila monster tonight. I'd just like to crawl under a rock out of the sun and sleep LOL! Of course I wouldn't mind dragging some willing female gila monster under the rock with me, since my second deadly sin of choice was..... well modesty prevents me.

It's really weird but this afternoon at work I started to have all the symptoms of a sprained ankle even though I can't remember twisting or injuring my ankle today at all. I can walk but I was clearly experiencing a little bit of a limp and some discomfort earlier. Also my ankle was tender to the touch when I removed my sock.

You know I sometimes wish that all meetings were outlawed. LMAO Tonight after a long day of work, there was an hour long meeting. Then I headed to another job to work there at an extra five hour work week.

I didn't get home until almost 8:30 PM and now it's past ten and time to think about going to bed.

It seems like we have WAY too many meetings to me. Sometimes I think it's just meetings for the sake of saying we had a meeting. At my other job we get PAID for meetings so I don't mind them there, but at my main job they can make us attend 3 hours of meetings per month which to me is ridiculous.

Well it's not REALLY any shorter but it will seem like it. This week the kids are only in class on M-W. On Thursday we have testing and then conferences. Then on Friday it's a 1/2 day and we're off at noon because the conferences go from 12:30-7:30 PM the night before.

Wow, I can't believe how fast Thanksgiving is coming up. The year is almost over. Where did it go? This is a year I'll never forget for a number of reasons to personal to go into.

I'm really in a pretty good mood tonight even though my Lions got beaten again on television, this time by the hapless Minnesota Vikings.

Hmmmm, okay well the title of the blog sort of says it all. Hmmmm, the day had its good moments, its bad moments and its ugly moments.

Let's start with the good. I slept late today and went to the local cellular phone outlet to see about getting a new phone. I found a nice new picture phone and it ended up only costing me $69.00+tax after rebates and it's really cool and sooooo much better than my POS that I've really had since 1999. Then I had a great day at work and am on track for a nice bonus or two if things go well tomorrow.

Now for the bad, I'm going to have to go take out some money on Monday to pay for my new phone. I've got a little bit of an upset stomach tonight but I don't think it's the flu, I just think it's some Chinese food that I ate earlier. Hopefully it will pass and I'll be fine tomorrow.

Now for the ugly. Nebraska's football program continues to spiral downward into a more pathetic state than one could ever have imagined 10 or even 5 years ago.

Today the one actual on the field streak they still had going was their 36 game winning streak versus Kansas and today they lost that in embarrassing fashion 40-15.

This is the coach that the Athletic Director hand picked when he fired a coach that went 10-3 in 2003. Since that time, Nebraska has seen a 44 year streak of winning seasons ended last year when the team went 5-6, a 36 year streak of bowl game appearances ended last year as well. Now this year the long winning streak against Kansas ends in embarrassing fashion and it's up in the air whether this team can even beat a pathetically bad K-State team at home next week in Lincoln. If they lose next week they'll almost certainly lose to division leading Colorado in Boulder the day after Thanksgiving. The Athletic Director is one of the most arrogant and obnoxious individuals I've ever seen, so it is doubtful he'll own up to his own boneheaded decision to fire a coach who went 10-3 in favor of one who may bring the program two consecutive losing seasons for the first time since 1960-1961.

Okay let's see, worked from 7:15 to 3:10 PM. Went and socialized with colleagues until about 4:30. Then went to my other job and worked there for about an hour then went and heard Jonathon Kozol speak about segregation of American public schools until about 8:15 PM. Then went back to my other job for another hour. Then I went to my favorite hangout and played darts and sang karaoke twice. Then I came home.

I am really starting to enjoy Fridays. Andrea bought me Kozol's new book and he personally autographed it for me.

Tonight I sang, "The Gambler" and "Stand by Me."
I thought I did okay but "Stand by Me was a little high for my voice.

When I arrived home at about 11:30 PM I found out my son is in town for the weekend which I am very surprised about since he didn't tell us he was coming.
