Mood: adventurous, 921 Views |  | Well after two days of having a poopy cold that was in my sinuses and throat, today I finally felt decent enough to head back to work. Things went okay and I didn't stress out my voice. I still am holding off at my other job because it is more stressful on my voice.
However tonight, I went into my other job because they had their Thanksgiving pot luck tonight and boy did I pig out. I had turkey, mashed potatoes, and cheesecake among other things.
Hmmmm, I'm probably not going to be able to karaoke tomorrow night which is kind of a drag but my voice is too weak and I don't want to irritate it by breathing smoke all night in the bar.
Anyway I'm pretty sure I'll make it through tomorrow and then the following week there are only two days with the kids and then we head into Thanksgiving.
I'm crossing my fingers that it doesn't go back into my throat. |

| Time and Colds Wait for No One. |

Mood: cold, 904 Views |  | Well I've really had this cold since last Thursday, and I've now missed three days of work at one job and two days at another job.
I think I'm going to try and go back tomorrow but I still don't feel back to normal. Mainly I don't want to lose my voice and by staying out the past two to three days I think I may have escaped that fate. |

| Grrrrrrr at colds. |

Mood: annoyed, 917 Views |  | You know I'd almost rather have the flu than have colds. It seems like EVERY year I get this and come close to losing my voice. I took today off so I wouldn't lose it and I'm also taking tomorrow off. The thing that is annoying is that after it leaves my throat it becomes a cough and that then lingers for a month before finally going away.
Still, with any luck I won't get the flu because I got this instead. |

| Making it through a Monday Unscathed. |

Mood: relieved, 897 Views |  | Well I made it through the day without stressing out my voice, but I'm not taking any chances and have decided to take tomorrow off as a precaution. I DON'T want to lose my voice this time and taking some time off to avoid it is well worth the time and trouble.
Okay, I showed the end of First Knight today and I must say that this is the WORST King Arthur movie ever made.
I'll bet poor old Sean Connery just grimaces in pain everytime he watches this dog being shown. LOL! First if you've read any of the Arthurian stories then DON'T watch this lame movie because Mordred, Gallahad, and Merlin aren't in it. Not only that but Arthur is killed by crossbow bolts in the chest while Lancelot wins the battle for him. At the end Arthur names Lancelot king before he dies even though he was about to execute him for adultry with his wife. LOL! Arthur give Lancelot Excalibur at the end too and then to make it even worse they shoot a flaming arrow onto the barge carrying away Arthur's body and burn it up. LMAO!! How cheesy!!!
Richard Gere plays Lancelot and he looks totally miscast. They even portray Lancelot and Guinevere's love affair as platonic which about made me lose my lunch. |

| Escaping with Voice in Tact? |

Mood: pleased, 896 Views |  | Hmmm I managed to work almost 8 hours the past two days despite having a cold and I haven't lost my voice yet (knock on wood).
I took some Sudafed tonight so hopefully I won't have major drainage and problems tonight. Tomorrow I'm planning to show a film so I shouldn't need to talk too much either. Last full week of school before Thanksgiving week.
My plans have changed. I'm not going out of town for Thanksgiving as I originally thought I would. We are going to go over Christmas break instead for several reasons. One is that Christmas Break is much longer. Another is that my mom's cousin just passed away and there is a memorial service on the Friday after Thanksgiving so she can no longer go with us and still attend that. |

| Fighting a cold. Grrrrrr!!! |

Mood: sick, 921 Views |  | Usually about once a year I get a cold and usually if I do, I lose my voice which I hate. Well the past couple years it's happened in after the start of the year. Last year it was in February and the year before that it was in April or May. Sometimes however, it happens in the Fall and that's when it's hitting me this year.
So far I've made it without losing my voice so if I can hang on I might be okay. It's in my sinuses and my nose right now. It's also really annoying if it turns into a cough because that nagging cough doesn't go away sometimes for 6 weeks.
As far as today is concerned it went okay. I got in about 3.5 hours of work and also listened to Nebraska (barely) win their football game, 27-24. Had some friends over tonight but knocked off entertaining about 10:30 due to not really feeling that great with my cold and all.
Watched some of the Wizard of Oz on TBS tonight too. |

Mood: silly, 1045 Views | Mmmmm, just got home from my favorite watering hole where my friend works. The place was jammed tonight and I ended up staying until about 12:15 AM.
I sang karaoke three times too although my two friends were both not feeling well tonight so I was by myself.
I got quite a few compliments although I've got the slight cold right now which I hope doesn't get worse because of smoke that was in the place.
I just took a decongestant to preven me from having nasal drainage during the night that might cause laryngitis.
I sang two songs alone and one duet with a friend of mine named Michelle. I think I have figured out that I love to get attention from other people.
I think it's a lot worse than it used to be . | |

Mood: happy, 959 Views |  | Well it's kinda late here but I got home not too long ago. Today was long but fine. I did testing in the AM until around 11:00 and then went to lunch for an hour before coming back for conferences all the way until 7:30 PM. After that a huge bunch of us went to Buffalo Wild Wings to unwind.
It was kind of fun and I had boneless wings which were spicy and good. I feel like I'm coming down with a cold though and I don't want to lose my voice so I'm trying not to go to sleep without taking a decongestant.
Tomorrow is only a half day of work in the morning and then I've got to go run some errands and then I have to catch up on my work at my other job because I didn't make it in there tonight. |

| Getting Ready for the Weekend :) |

Mood: excited, 907 Views |  | Well it's only Wednesday night, but I'm already getting revved up for the weekend because tomorrow is only a half day of testing followed by conferences. Then on Friday we only go in until about noon and then we're off for the rest of the day.
Last two Fridays have been fun with karaoke and dart playing. I'm not sure about my friend Lisa though because she's been sick all week, so maybe she won't feel up to doing anything Friday this week.
Well that's about it for tonight. I'm going to go take a shower and get ready for bed pretty quick here. |
