Wow Monday Is Gone. Dec 19, 2005 11:31 pm

This day went kind of fast. I slept fairly late and then spent the morning and early afternoon downtown. Then I came back and soon went into work.

This evening my son and his friends were over and we played two fun games, the newest of which was called Apples to Apples which is a party game that was a lot of fun.

Christmas is coming soon.

Hmmmmm, well it's Sunday night and I just got done working at my second job and normally I'd be getting ready for a Monday and an early rise to go to work.

However, it's now vacation, woohooo!!!! So I don't have to get up early, I can just stay up late and relax and then rise as late as I want to tomorrow.

So what is everyone's happiness meter on right now? On a scale of 1-10 with 1 being depressed and extremely unhappy and 10 being ecstatic and extremely happy, how happy are you? I'm going to give myself a 6.5 right now. That's actually happier than I've been in awhile, but it's far from being perfectly happy.

Finally the vacation has begun. I finished up the last day of school for the calendar year 2005 today and now I'm looking forward to 16 days in a row off.

I'm a little tired tonight because I went to work at my other job for 4 hours before going to karaoke at my regular hangout at about 10:00 PM.

Only trouble was I only ended up getting to sing one time because of how many people wanted to sing.

Ah well, it was fun anyway. I got home around 1:00 AM and dug into a big piece of apple pie with ice cream on top.

Woohoo, Christmas vacation is ALMOST here. Tomorrow is the last day of school and then two full weeks of sleeping late and having fun sandwiched amongst three weekends means a grand old time.

This week seems like it was sooooooo long. It wasn't a BAD week but it just kind of crawled by.

I'm starting to get excited because I'm hoping to still do some more shopping before the holiday hits.

Okay I'm normally a pretty positive person but there are a few things going on today that annoyed me.

First of all a friend of mine is having problems big time with her stupid ex and that is annoying because I don't like to see her down or upset.

Then today I found out by e-mail that my principal is taking away my room where my classes meet starting 2nd semester to allow for an in school suspension room. No warning, no one asks me or even tells me until today when I get this e-mail saying it's happening.

Then this afternoon I found out that I'm NOT getting my back pay for our newly approved salary contract until February because it didn't get approved by the board in time. This means that the several hundred extra dollars WON'T come for Christmas like I was hoping and expecting.

Then tomorrow morning at the ungodly hour of 7:00 AM we're having a monthly department meeting even though our department head promised we wouldn't have AM meetings this year.

Other than these small things things are generally going very well with my students. My son will be home from college this coming Friday and Friday is the last day of classes for me for the year 2005.

I am SO looking forward to two full wonderful weeks off plus the three weekends.

Okay one of my friends is having a hard time tonight. I wish I could do more to help her but some of this is just a part of going through the nastiness of a divorce when a child is involved.

I want to pass on a kiss and a good wish for her because she was upset about some things that have once again thrown a wrench in her plans. All she really wants to do is be happy and be independent but everytime she feels like this is within her reach she gets kicked in the teeth by some new complication.

Anyway if you've got someone you care about and is struggling right now, give them a kiss and a good wish. It might not solve their problem but it might at least let them know you care about them and are thinking about them.

Wow last night I talked about needing a day off. I woke up last night about 1:30 AM not feeling well. I think it was some potato chips I ate last night that didn't agree with me.

But this morning at about 5:30AM I still wasn't feeling quite right so I called in sick. After speaking with the person taking my place today and telling him what to do, I then fell back asleep and slept until 1:00 PM. Definitely not "normal". Then I had some 7 UP, had some soup, had a couple poached eggs on toast and then went BACK to sleep from about 2:00-4:30. I've gotten almost an extra full night of sleep today. What is odd is that I never got sick, I don't have a fever and there are no other signs of me not feeling well other than waking up last night. After I took a Tums I went back to sleep and didn't have anymore problems.

Maybe I've got a very mild case of the 24 hour flu, but if that's the case I usually have a fever and chills and I didn't. I also wasn't sick so who knows.

Maybe I was just tired from not getting enough sleep lately and this is my body's way of catching up.

Okay, 5 more days or one more week and then it's vacation time. This weekend went way too fast though, I will say that.

I could really use a day off but barring an unexpected storm it looks like I'll have to wait until Friday which is the last day of school before Christmas break.

I have to laugh because today I spent over 50.00 on shipping supplies, boxes and postage to send off gifts to people. Ah well it's nice to HAVE that money for a change and not be running short.

Wow, it's almost the end of Saturday. Where did it go? It seemed to go pretty fast. This morning I got up around 9:30 and headed downtown to what's called the Old Market to do some shopping. Ended up getting one gift and then went and had a yummy stuffed pastry with ham and cheese in it for lunch.

Returned home, got online for a bit and then headed into work. Got out of work after a pretty good day at 6:00 PM and headed over to do some more shopping. Then drove back across town, stopped at two more places but didn't buy anything.

Then I went home and wrapped Emmy and Morgie's gifts which I'll send off tomorrow.
After that I went down and watched the last hour or so of It's a Wonderful Life. I never get tired of watching that movie.
