The Proposed Choccie Armistice :)LOL! Dec 9, 2006 10:36 am
Mood: amused, 1055 Views
Hahahaha perhaps this static war has gone on long enough? Our side (the men who haven't surrendered) is going to--in the spirit of Christmas, New Years, Valentines Day and the fact that we just love the women on here--under my direct orders cease hostilities immediately and commence open negotiations for a full armistice between our two sides.

This is not a ruse de guerre nor is it an attempt to indicate fear or weakness. It is only an attempt to show the women here on OF II that we love them dearly and wish to offer them a Choccie Armistice.

We propose under this Choccie Armistice:

To share power equally with the women from this point forward.
To love, honor and respect them, because they are fun, loveable and very sexy
To give them a large amount of choccie in token of how much we love honor and respect them.
To ask them to give us the remote and let us watch football especially during the playoffs. LOL!
To please not ask us to take out the trash in the last two minutes of the game. LOL!
To release Joe (assuming he wants to be released)
And furthermore it is proposed that all men and women who participated in this war and served their gender with valor be decorated with the highest honors. For women that is the Order of the Yellow Tongie or the Order of the Pink Leather Chap. LOL! For the men that is the Medal of Dork or the Medal of Excessive Testosterone LOL!

These awards shall be bestowed at the behest of the leaders of the two sides in the conflict.

I Prince Brucey Lord of Outstanding Men of FF do so declare my intent to enter our side into this armistice should the leaders of the Yellow Tongie agree. LOL!

Once both sides have agreed to cease all hostilities we can have a big hot tub party to celebrate on a neutral site of course LOL!

Not Bad for a Monday :) Dec 4, 2006 7:02 pm
Mood: content, 1092 Views
Okay only three more Mondays until THE day. As far as Mondays go this one was not too bad. We are reading and watching The Great Gatsby right now in my Junior English class. When I was in high school I had no appreciation whatsoever for how good a story this is, F. Scott Fitzgerald.

The story is basically about the depravity of the wealthy class during the 1920's. It's also about a man who loves a woman so much he spends all of his money and most of his adult life trying to have her for his own, even though she's married to a nasty, obnoxious, selfish rich man.

Basically the story has everything, love, deceit, murder, jealousy, intrigue, suspense, suicide.

In my Senior English classes we're starting Gulliver's Travels which is an allegorical satire on the 18th Century English religion and politics.

Other than having an annoying meeting after school that lasted until 4:00 PM it was a pretty good day and my kids weren't too bad.

Worked only two hours tonight at my other job, and popped a pot roast in the oven when I got home that should be ready to eat all yummy in about another 1.5 hours.

Hopped in the shower and climbed into my jammies and my bathrobe and now am just kicking back relaxing here on good old FF.

Tomorrow I think I'm going to go back to the new karaoke bar I went to last week. It was kind of fun and the DJ I like that runs the show on Fridays does the show at this bar on Tuesdays.

I managed to get out briefly yesterday for the first of some Christmas shopping. I have a long ways to go as I've barely started.

I wanta have a party. waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
Okay I'm okay now.

A Very Enjoyable Thanksgiving Weekend. :) Nov 26, 2006 9:53 am
Mood: cheerful, 1138 Views
Okay, well the verdict is pretty much in, this Thanksgiving was very nice. Lots of food, football, laughter, singing, game playing and some nice time to see family that I don't get a lot of chance to see.

My son was in town and I hadn't seen him since July when he suddenly decided to move to St. Louis. Although I didn't get as much time as I'd like, to spend with him, we did watch some of the Husker win over Colorado together and spent quite a bit of time on Thanksgiving day playing X-Box and then an adult family game called Mafia which is kind of cool on Thanksgiving evening when we had 10 people all in the house at once.

My daughter and son in law, also from St. Louis arrived on Thanksgiving day about 11:00 AM and they stayed until early Saturday morning before leaving.

My mom came up from Lincoln on Friday afternoon and I hadn't seen her for awhile either so that was nice.

Most of the football games turned out the way I wanted too. Nebraska handled Colorado 37-14 to wrap up it's first 9 win regular season since 2003 when the Athletic Director fired a coach who had just finished with the identical record.

Work load has been lighter since the holiday happened in mid week. It's hard to believe the weekend is almost over. It went super fast. I can't believe sometimes how fast it seems the days and months are just whizzing by. Now it's less than a month until Christmas already.

I haven't done any shopping yet, of course that's not surprising since I really hate shopping. LOL!

I went karaoking twice this weekend. On my regular Friday night session there was a young lady that knew me from years ago when she was at my school that I used to teach in. She was there with her boyfriend from Kansas City, so that was fun seeing her again. It was a nice crowd but not loaded with singers so I got to sing 6 times which was nice.

Last night (Saturday) I watched some more football, including the USC massacre of Notre Dame that I figured was going to happen. I'm one of those people who love seeing Notre Dame lose to whomever they're playing so that brought a smile to my face. As the game got less interesting, I decided to go to the other club where I hadn't been in awhile to karaoke. Since it was already after 10, I ended up singing only two songs but I'm glad I went as there were some friends there that I hadn't talked to in awhile.

Then I was just about to sign off and go to sleep and got paged and ended up staying up until too late. LOL! But no problem because I could sleep late again today (and did).

Tomorrow it's back to the salt mines. But it was a fun, enjoyable weekend. Couldn't ask for much more and it reminded me of Thanksgivings of the past.

Hmmm I Could Learn to Like These Three Day Work Weeks. :) Nov 20, 2006 7:23 pm
Mood: bouncy, 1123 Views
Okay well tomorrow the kids are in school but then Wednesday we just have meetings in the morning and work time in the afternoon to do grades and that type of thing. Then it's a big 4 day Thanksgiving weekend woohoo

Today went okay although some of the kids were a little keyed up I think because of the short week. In my Am. Lit. class we read one of my all time favorite stories, "To Build a Fire" by Jack London about a man who fails to show the proper deference to the dangerous powers of nature and pays the ultimate price.

My son is coming home tomorrow night he just e-mailed me to tell me so I'm pretty excited. He mentioned maybe going karaoking tomorrow night with me. I don't think he plans on going on Friday because he's going to a party at the house of one of his best friends from High School.

Wednesday night I plan to buy a turkey for our family feast on Thursday. I love Thanksgiving. Now days, it's really my second favorite holiday behind Christmas.

Two Years With Cruiser :) Nov 19, 2006 7:57 pm
Mood: devious, 1049 Views
Hehehehe no not MARY, but with my electric blue PT Cruiser. On November 13th, 2004, I decided to trade in my car which had some serious frame problems and I ended up leasing my electric blue PT Cruiser.

I haven't regretted it at all. I love it. I can take the seats out and it has almost as much storage room as a minivan. It has a nice CD player in it and I have had no mechanical or engine problems with it at all.

I have now taken it to Yellowstone Park and over the Bighorn Mountains of Wyoming as well as to Estes Park, Colorado and up to the top of Trail Ridge Road in Rocky Mountain National Park.

The only annoying thing was that I had to pay off the loan on my other car and that cost me a lot to be added on to what I owe. But eventually when the lease ends and I trade it in, I should get a really reasonable deal the next time I get a car. I would seriously consider getting another PT Cruiser but also am open to getting something else as well.
