Hahaha nooooo not the blonde from the Warrant song, but my very own real cherry pie LOL!

Hmmm the other day when I was grocery shopping I decided to buy a pie and they were on sale so I picked a Mrs. Smith's Cherry Pie. It's cooking right now and it's almost done. It smells yummy too. Want some? Better hurry over

Saturday Night Was Fun :) Feb 18, 2007 8:42 am

I actually ended up having more fun Saturday night than I did Friday. On Friday night when I went to work at my other job at 6:00 PM it was cold but calm. Three hours later when I left to go to karaoke I opened the door and there was literally a blizzard going on with high winds and blowing snow.

I didn't even know anything was expected so I figured it was temporary and decided to go to karaoke anyway. (I'm addicted what can I say) .

Well, as it turned out the bar was not really crowded with people but you'd have thought every freaking singer in Omaha had decided to go there that particular night. There was an entire table of people and almost every one of them wanted to sing. It was one of those situations where about 80% of the people IN the place were singing karaoke.

As it is I only got up three times. By the time I left at about 12:45, the snow had really stopped so it turned out to be the right decision to go on to karaoke even though at the time I was thinking it might be a mistake.

So last night about 10:00 PM I decided to drive out to Elkhorn to sing karaoke out there at this bar that my friend the DJ Chris works at now. I ended up singing 3 songs out there too even though I didn't arrive until after 10:00 PM.

This bar was really crowded, a lot more crowded than it was a few weeks ago when I went there. I had something interesting happen to me too. After I sang Taxi by Harry Chapin I saw this girl and her boyfriend/husband smiling and singin along with me at the bar and she called me over to talk to her. She was a former student that I had had in history class years ago and she is now 37. Her best friend's mom was our realtor years ago when we bought our house. Her mom is still in real estate and so is her best friend's mom.

On my last song I sang Fire and Rain by James Taylor and another lady called me over and told me that I sounded just like James Taylor and that I was amazing. That made me feel really good.

When I tried to go home I came upon some kind of accident on the street going to my place. There were 3 firetrucks and 3 ambulances blocking the street. I am not sure what happened but I think a car might have crashed into someone's garage. I had to detour a block in order to go around the mess although the firetrucks all left as I pulled a block around to the other side.

Other than having to work 4.1 hours today it should be a nice relaxing Sunday because I don't have to work tomorrow.

Woohoo, finally it's the weekend and no school Monday which also happens to be my birthday. I'm stretching my birthday celebration just like last year expecting lots of attention for a full week beginning tonight with karaoke

More importantly I'll be able to sleep late three days instead of 4 and even on Tuesday the kids won't be there and we just have inservice that day.

I'm going out Saturday night, then I will probably do something Monday night on the actual day and then on Tuesday I'm going to karaoke and have another celebration at my other bar and then on next I'm having a party at my Friday night hangout where I do karaoke .

Of course I only turn "25" twice in my life, so why not celebrate

Interesting to Go Back a Year :) Feb 13, 2007 1:09 pm

Okay since I was off today because of school getting cancelled, I took the time to go back and read my blogs from about a year ago.

Kind of interesting to see what I was talking about and writing about and reading comments although some have been deleted because people erased their profiles.

I found out a few interesting things:

a) My first ever numerology post was on Feb. 20th so next Tuesday I will be one full year of doing my numerology.

b) My first Cheesecake Epics were published a year ago at this time in response to a highly erotic poem written by Sharon about the wedding of a godess princess to Zeus.

c) I met Sharon and Ari about a year ago this month on the blogs and of course the boundary breaker for us to become friends was joking around about cheesecake.

d) I was revelling in all the attention I was getting online a year ago from new friends that I had made and desperately needed at that time.

e) I was still recovering physically and emotionally from some upsets that had happened between October and January to me.

f) I was sick a lot a year ago and I suspect that it was due mostly to the stress of things mentioned in e) above. Oddly this year I have not been absent a single day thus far due to illness a true sign that I'm no longer upset and unhappy about my life.

g) Many of the people I love are still here and still are my friends even though it's been a year.

h) Some people that I care about a great deal now, I hadn't yet met a year ago but I'm so glad I've met them now.

i) Even though I was more emotionally vulnerable a year ago, I still am the same old smartaleck, wisecracking, caring, funloving man that I was back then.

j) I was a lot moodier last year than I am now. I think that goes alone with e, f and i above.

Waiting to See if it's Enough or Not. :( Feb 12, 2007 9:37 pm

Okay well here in Omaha, 5-6 inches of snow in the middle of the night is enough to cancel the day the next day but 3 inches isn't and is just annoying. So must of us who are involved with schools are sitting here tonight wondering if we will have to trudge in or if we will get that early morning call telling us we have the day off.

At first I wondered if this supposed snow storm was going to miss us like so many of them have this year, but about 9:00 to 9:30 it began snowing and now it's 11:30 and it's coming down still and it's expected to continue into the morning.

Most estimates are 3-6 inches which leaves us guessing as I just said, but some of the better weather men are predicting 4-5 which would probably be good enough especially if the winds blow it back on the roads. So I'm optimistic that I might get a nice relaxing day off tomorrow.

Of course I've been wrong before too and the weather men have been wrong a lot more often than I have.

They'll make the decision at about 5:00 AM so that the buses either know they don't run or that they do. So I'm sitting here crossing my fingers that we get the 5-6 and not the 3-4.

Hmmm, I have been in the mood to make stuff lately and I am actually a pretty good cook although I didn't cook for a number of years.

Now for various reasons I find it not only delicious to prepare interesting meals but also very thrifty and cost efficient.

I was just telling a friend that I haven't been to a McDonalds or a Burger King since June 2006. By my own reckoning I was probably spending about $150.00+ per month on eating out and will note for the record that I have only eaten fast food in St. Louis when my son in law bought it for me but otherwise have refrained from buying or eating it since last June.

Yesterday I decided to use my new crockpot I got for Christmas and cooked chicken breast. When I got home from work they were almost ready but I wanted an added treat, something which I hadn't had in years and that was dumplings. So I made dumplings and had my chicken breast with dumplings and it was yummy.

Then this morning I made myself grilled cheese sandwiches and still feeling hungry I opened a can of peaches and baked myself a peach cobbler which just got out of the oven about a half hour ago.

I tasted it and it turned out pretty good. The other day I took hamburger, tomato sauce and chili pepper and created a sort of taco stuff using some soft tortilla shells I still had left over.

One thing I like to do is create new recipes that sound good using rice or beans. I've also made chili, spanish rice, scalloped potatoes and of course homemade fried potatoes when I feel energetic and in the mood for something yummy.

Well so far it's been a cold but relaxing weekend here in the Big O. Because of our corporate awards banquet on Thursday the company gave all of us 5 hours break on the total hours we have to get in this week so this means I have been able to relax and not feel pressured so much to go in and work a lot of hours at my second job.

Last night I got to karaoke early and easily found a table. I ended up being first to sing but still only got up 4 times during the night. I sang two Green Day songs, Wonderwall by Oasis and Taxi by Harry Chapin.

My friend Ronda was giving me crap about singing Taxi because she says it's too long, it's too slow and it's too sad. LOL! She wanted to hear Wonderwall so I sang that for her .

One of my friends named Robin was there last night with her older sister. She is in town from North Carolina. We danced once which was kind of fun even though I'm not the greatest dancer I did alright. We actually danced to a country song, Stationary Cha-Cha.

Got home about 1:15 AM and of course couldn't go right to sleep so went online and IMed until about 3:00 AM . Got up at about 9:45 this morning and headed downtown to knock around at the bookstores and shops in what is called the Old Market. Ate at a French bakery called Delice. I had a prime roast beef sandwich and a Greek Pasta salad and two of the yummiest chocolate covered macaroon cookies I've ever had. I always eat them when I go to that place. Hmmm are you jealous? I'll bet you are.

I got back about 2:00 PM and am just now writing a blog before going into work. Not sure what I'm doing this evening. My stepson's band is playing at a nearby club. I may go over and catch him if I feel like it.
