New Hurricane Book Hot off the Press! Sep 6, 2007 7:57 am
Mood: excited, 752 Views
For those of you who are hurricane enthusiasts like me, I would like to reccomend possibly one of the BEST hurricane books ever written. The hard cover book contains a large number of histiric photographs of hurricane damage and storm in progress photos. Many of the never before seen photos date back to the 1800's. The title of this great new book is" "Hurricanes and the Middle Atlantic States" and it is written by Rick Schwartz. How do I KNOW all of this?: I helped research the material for this book!

...so I met Carolyn up at the Charlestown Races and Slots casino on Wednesday and I brought her LOCK of HAIR along for good luck. The LOCK of HAIR worked moderately well at first, but then the good luck began to run out. After a while, I was up about $90 andCarolyn came by and whenI asked how she was doing, she casually announced that she was up $750. That's SEVEN HUNDRED and FIFTY BUCK-A-ROONIES, people!!!. I managed to get out of the casino with thirty dollars.

Kitten Therapy Aug 31, 2007 1:29 pm
Mood: serious, 1068 Views
I spent some quality time with my sister's CATS last night. It felt good to have some fur to stroke and some TAILS to play with. I DID restrain myself from LICKING the cats though. I had fun with the little 6-toed calico kitten, but she scratched up my hands pretty bad while playing with them. That's what I get for pretending to be a MOUSE! The little ball of fur didn't like being picked up very much either. A fuzzy LONG HAIRED cat came over to be stroked. She has a beautiful dark brown LONG HAIRED TAIL that looks like a woman's LOCK of HAIR. I think it could be VERY therapeutic for anyone to spend some time in a room full of kittens. They could be rented out by the hour to relieve stress and have a little fun.

More Bad Luck Aug 30, 2007 11:23 am

Car trouble here the past few days. Loud scraping from the passenger side wheel while I was driving down the road grew worse and worse. Difficult to travel more than 15-25 MPH. I decided to change the brake pads on both front wheels. I managed with an adjustable crescent wrench, a socket wrench, and a C-clamp. The first wheel went OK, but on the driver's side, I needed to get a longer wrench for leverage to loosen the bolts on the caliper. Then I needed a larger C-clamp to compress the piston back into the cylinder. (I am lazy and did not want to bleed the line). So as I compresed the piston, the pressure was higher than it was on the passenger side wheel because the new brake pads were now on...on that side. So brake fluid began squirting out of the master cylinder as I opened up the gap. After both brakes were done, I was pleased with myself, that a poor man such as myself with limited resouces who knows NOTHING about auto mechanics could manage to fix the brakes without breaking the brakes! But as I drove off, the scraping only grew worse! I called my dad on my cell phone. "Could it be the bearings?". He suggested the possibility that the transaxle might need replacing and to check the universal joint. (Whatever THAT is!) When I got home, I had another look at the wheel. The OUTSIDE of the caliper had been worn, and the INSIDE of the donut rim had been abraided. "WHAT NOW?" I wondered. Finally I got the bright idea (DUH!) of putting the donut on the rear wheel and swapping the rear tire for the front! Problem solved. Now TODAY...getting a used tire for the rear wheel so that the donut can come off....that's ANOTHER story...

OK. Now HERE'S the BIG question: You have been dating a woman with beautiful black hair and one night while you are stroking it, you happen to notice some BLONDE roots comming in! What do you DO??? Dump her on the spot and run like crazy? Or make an excuse why you can't see her anymore and politely leave so that she will not go ant tell all of your friends and family that you have been dating a blonde?

Favorite War Movies Aug 25, 2007 12:34 pm

I believe that the movie "Platoon" was a fine movie. It includes murder as a plot within the story, and the scenery is authentic. Some war movies are very dissapointing because of the locations where they were filmed. John Wayne starred in a Vietnam War movie called "The Green Berret". But the entire movie was shot in the California desert. You can practically see the "Hollywood" sign in the background. A great dissapointment. Tom Cruise starred in a Vietnam War movie called "Born on the 4th of July". Again, all of the blowing desert sand and conniferous trees in the background ruin the entire picture. There are some good World War II movies. "The Guns of Navarone" was entertaining. I haven't seen "The 300" so I don't know if it is any good. Any good war movie recommendations? (New or old).
