So I got a kitten. Her mame is Fuzzy. She is a LONG HAIRED cat and she is coal black. She is 5 months old. So after I turned the lights out to go to sleep, I was stroking her TAIL (I thought). Some considerable amount of time elapsed before I realized that I was stroking my own !

What Kind of Music do Today's Elderly People Listen to? Nov 9, 2007 10:39 am

This week my number one tune is "Good Life" by Kanye West. (Hip-Hop.) Most of the people where I am currently working are older people (early to mid 20's) and listen to "classic rock". It is OK to hear once in a while but I like to hear new tunes instead of hearing the same old stuff all the time. Do other elderly people share my feelings or do they prefer to hear the same old tunes again and again?

I was just curious. I have heard stories...even here on ff about people meeting in R.L. and then falling in love and then having the BIG ROMANCE of their lives etc. & etc. So, let me HEAR about it. Did it start with an email or a blog feedback or an online friendship that lead to meeting in the B&M (brick and mortar) world...or what? Who started the thing? How has it worked out? Did you...settle for someone online below your prefered standards to satisfy lonliness? Was there ACTUALLY some kind of romantic attraction? Tell me more!

There have been some TV commercials that were found to be so offensive to certain people that they were taken off the air after the sponsors were flooded with callers threatening to boycott. There was the famous Taco Bell Chihuahua that somehow offended the Mexicans. Then, a few years back...I remember the Female Talking Toilets debacle that caused a flood of angry female callers. Is there a commercial that YOU remember that either you or other people found MORE than normally offensive? (Considering that ALL TV commercials are offensive, THAT is saying a LOT.) There is even sometimes racism that seeps into some advertising (both in print and TV). There was an instance a few years back in North Carolina...or maybe South Carolina where a phone book was printed and mailed out. On the cover was an illustration of a map of the world with people in each continent on a phone talking to one another...except for the continent of Africa where a monkey was talking on the phone. The recalled phone books made national news in the US. OK. Let's have your examples of offensive commercials!
