Movies and TV in USA Encourage Stalking May 23, 2008 11:40 am

Anyone who has EVER watched movies in America within the last 100 years, or TV since its inception have surely noticed the behaviour typically protrayed by the female roles and the persuant male. The female almost ALWAYS plays hard to get and the male almost NEVER takes "no" for an answer. After ignoring multitudes of "no"s and lack of interest throughout the story, the tenacious male is invariably rewarded in the end when he..."gets the girl". In R.L. it rarely happens that way. If a woman is interested in a gentleman, she will show it. Many women approach the gentleman initially. After a woman says "no", a man will hopefully get the message the first time. But a naive young man who thinks ladies really mean "yes" when they say "no" may be under the false impression that the girl just needs to be worn down, gotten sufficiently drunk, or drugged, and that its NOT really rape after all because that's the way it happens in the movies or on TV.
