| Who Says There Can't be no Flood on a Mountain? |
May 12, 2008 8:54 am Mood: serious, 108 Views | | Been rainin' all week up in these parts. HEAVY, soaking rain with high winds yesterday afternoon and all night. Rainin' again today. Temp only in the 40's! VERY uncharacteristic for May! I was on my way home about 1AM this morning but the road goin' up the mountain was sealed off by a very large fallen tree. So I turned around and as I drove back down the mountain in the pourin rain and howlin' icy wind, a brown river of water had burst forth from above and covered the road with mud and rocks, but I made it down OK. I took a detour around the other side of the mountain and made it home safely but the rivers of water had even carved gulleys in MY driveway 1,300 feet UP from creeks where there used to be NONE running through my steep back yard. The Shenendoah River has become brown and turbulent and the trees along its banks are becoming submerged at the base of their trunks.

| Everybody Needs an ENEMY |
May 9, 2008 8:10 am Mood: disappointed, 393 Views | | Read LOUISEJOANNE2008's Feedback on my advice column "Bogus Funeral". It speaks for its self. Kind of sounds like something that a certain dark cardinal would have written. (I wonder if they are actually...one in the same?)

| Jim Crow |
May 8, 2008 7:57 am Mood: gloomy, 369 Views | | WHO...is Jim Crow anyway? And HOW did his name get attached to racial predjudice in southern USA? Or was his name made up? there is STILL plenty of racial predjudice in USA and I am NOT just talking about the skinheads. In Baltimore, there are clubs that do not allow whites, just like in the 1940's. There is a club called "Arch Club for Black Men") So it apparently excludes females too. I grew up in Maryland and many bars had a "colored" section and a "white" section. There was a swimming pool in Glen Echo park that only allowed black people to swim on one day, and then the pool was drained and refilled and then only whites were allowed in on another day. Then there were the drinking fountains. Public buildings had brown drinking fountains that were colored only, and then there were white drinking fountains that were white only. Today, black people are called "African American". But it is still OK to say "white boy" instead of "European American". In the 1970's, there was a restaurant in Maryland called "Sambo's". Black people were offended by the name, but the owners said it was simply an anacronym. But inside the restaurant, the walls were decorated with pics of "Little Black Sambo". The restaurant soon went out of business. The house that I bought in Baltimore was occupied in the 1990's by a hate group who had parties with live bands who would sing "Kill the n------s". In the 21st century, it was occupied by crack addicts before I moved in and became a heroin junkie and a crack smoker myself before losing the house. Now I am living here in yankee territory in West Virginia, but many whites fly the confererate flag. Jim Crow is very much alive today in America. Does he live near you>

| I'm Copying off gowerboy: My Success Story Entry |
May 7, 2008 10:00 am Mood: silly, 430 Views | | I'm on page two, 6th up from the bottom. Lots of negative votes. I'm NOT gonna win and I can't be at the top of the blogs like belizia and cruiser and beta because they EACH got a little SILVER or GOLD ball next to their handle and I am just a lowly STANDARD member. But maybe gowerboy can WIN the gold and get another male up on top of the blog list again! (DonaldHoppy has a blog in Filipino ff and he is on TOP of the blog list there.) If you wanna vote negative for me in the "Success Story" contest, that's ok. I have NO hope of competing with pro writers, but if you wanna give me a concillatory positive vote in the contest, that is OK too. (You didn't think I was gonna enter this contest and NOT pimp my sorry entry, did you?)

| Anybody Like Frank Sinatra? |
May 6, 2008 1:00 pm Mood: curious, 452 Views | My satelite TV company has cut off most of the channels on my TV because I have been unble to pay my bills for...some considerable amount of time. Anyway, I wound up watching a Frank Sinatra TV special yesterday that was taped in 1965. I have found out that I can do some impressive Sinatra imitations.
"Ahem. I've got you under my skinnn..., LUCK be a lady...tonight!" etc & etc."
I wanna see "The Man With the Golden Arm".
What is YOUR favourite Sinatra movie? What is your favourite Sinatra song?

| Plans for my BODY |
May 5, 2008 10:15 am Mood: excited, 655 Views | | It occured to me today that I could MAKE my OWN coffin! WHY spend an arm and a leg to bury my arms and legs? But my NEXT project after coffin construction would be to secure a FREE burial plot. Perhaps the US Park Service would donate a plot for me in one of their parks> I could then go to work on my tombstone. It need not be fancy. A rock would do. Any ideas?

| ff Contest Ranks Update |
May 3, 2008 1:00 pm Mood: somber, 562 Views | I scrolled through the entries and noticed that they seem to be listed in the order that they were submitted rather than in the order of highest or lowest votes. I had assumed in the beginning that my natural place was at the bottom, but each time a new entry is submitted, it stays at the bottom regardless of the number of votes it gets until a new entry is submitted. (I am HAPPY to report that 6 readers gave my entry a positive vote). There are negative votes already too, but every single entry is getting negative votes. For those of you that have voted positive for my entry, I humbly THANK you. To the REST of you: I UNDERSTAND. Sincerely.
