Mar 15, 2008 7:46 pm Mood: confused, 583 Views | | My mom always said "Stand! Face! and Conquer!"
So I Stood! Faced! and Conquered!
Now I feel bad. WHY?!?!
Facing things head on should make us feel better shouldn't they? |

| Lack of confidence |
Mar 14, 2008 8:30 pm Mood: contemplative, 536 Views | | I was people watching the other day. I sat watching two babies interact....Awwww they were so cute. One noticed the other, then the smiles, baby talking back and forth.
They both looked so confident, not shy at all. So accepting of each other although they didn't know each other.
Observing them got me thinking. Is there an age confidence begins to start the roller coaster ride? Or is it due to experiences?
Thinking back...waaaaaaaaaay back I remember being happy and confident. I believed in myself. As I entered grade school things changed gradually. Maybe comparing myself to others or being compared affected how I saw myself.
Confidence is a very fragile thing. We have our moments when we feel so good about ourselves, other times we feel like we have so much room for improvement. We allow not only our own thoughts and feelings affect our confidence but what others say and think as well.
I guess the only way to have a healthy level on confidence is to accept ourselves as we are, the good and the bad. Accept our faults and try to change them. Not allow what others say and do affect our lives. Hard to do! All we can do is keep on trying!!
Happy weekend to you all. |

| Body adjustments |
Mar 14, 2008 2:30 pm Mood: drained, 479 Views | | The time change seems to affect people differently. Some it doesn't bother, others it throws for a loop.
Does it take you time to adjust to the time changes? If so how long?

Wishing you all a wonderful weekend! Take care of yourselves. |

| Bloggal Crush |
Mar 13, 2008 9:03 am Mood: content, 501 Views | | Spring must be in the air. I see a few posts about people having crushes. Oooooohhh lala!
When you are interested in someone, what do you do about it? Just sit back silently and dream? Make a move? If so what kind of move? Do you wait for your crush to notice you and make a move?
You gain strength, courage, and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You must do the thing which you think you cannot do.

| Bullying |
Mar 9, 2008 1:23 pm Mood: annoyed, 597 Views | | How would you handle it if one of your friends children was bullying (criticizing as well as starting to get pushy/slapping etc) one of your kids?
A. Let it work itself out?
B. Bring it up with the child?
C. Talk to the parent?
I have tried to leave it and see if things work out but it just continues.
I don't feel I have a right to talk to the child about it. That seems like discipline and we have an unspoken rule that we don't discipline each others children.
Not sure if talking to the parent would help.
How would you handle it? |

| What if?? |
Mar 8, 2008 1:06 pm Mood: curious, 539 Views | | My son came home from school one day. He was sitting having his after school snack. We did our usual conversation.
Me: How was your day? Him: Ok Me: What did you learn today? Him: Nothing. Me Well if you learn nothing at school, whats the point of going? Him: Because you make me.
Hmmm good point, but whatever he still has to go to school!
He was quiet for a bit then got this serious look about his face. He asks "Mom, what if you were the only person on earth?"
Hmmm my blonde brain spins and wonders 'How would I know I was the first person earth?'
So here is the scene. You wake up one morning, and your the only person on earth.
How do you discover your the only person on earth? What parts shut down (hydro, cable, phone, internet, water etc...the things we take for granted but is someone elses responsiblity to run so we can use them). How long before we have no use of these things? Food? We will eventually run out, then what? How long can one person survive? Are there other things that I haven't thought about (most likely alot)?
Quite alot to think about. Leave it to a youngin to ask something like this! |

| Which do you prefer? |
Mar 7, 2008 11:16 pm Mood: curious, 586 Views | | Which of these two types of relationships do you prefer?
One based on having all the finer things in life? Nice home, new vehicle, basically everything and anything you want, you can have.
OR
A relationship based on love. Spending quality time together, sharing, growing as an individual as well as a couple.
Just curious as to what others think on the subject.
Have a wonderful weekend filled with sunshine (hopefully!) and lots of smiles and laughter. |

| Besides blogging?? |
Mar 6, 2008 1:44 pm Mood: curious, 470 Views | | Other than blogging and spending time online, what other activities do you do/enjoy?
Hobbies? Interests? Events you attend?
For me, sitting in a chair staring at a computer screen can get a lil boring after a while. Especially since my main job requires the use of a computer.
So when I am not online I like to do a variety of things which include:
Crafts.... I am just gathering flowers and stuff to start making floral wreaths and various arrangements.
Walking.... after the cold weather its nice to get out and see all the changes in the neighborhood.
Basketball.... something new I found I enjoy alot! Playing basketball with the kids (not the knock down, competative kind...the kind for old ladies! )
Going for lunch or coffee.... there seems to be about 5-6 coffee shops within two blocks so why not try 'em all.
Concerts.... the last concert I seen was Nazareth and Headpins. Awesome concert and hope to see Nazareth again this year when they return.
Movies.... taking my standing date (my lil man) to see a movie once in a while. What a lil gentleman he is.
Those are a few things I enjoy (not nearly ALL the things I like to do).
How about you? |
